There is nothing NORMAL about the progression of the kids on their team. Gig is up in 2017.

With a rule like that, how is hoco justifying not doing anything about the holdbacks and double holdback? It is their rule! Guess their management is so tight with the offenders and since they also hold their kids back, never going to change. Anyone w those kids should be forced to forfeit every game. Let them play but let it be a forfeit and do not allow ANY holdbacks in any championship game.

HOCO is run by Public Howard County Recreation Department. These people know exactly what they are doing with this grade based league. Howard County should get an award for being a cesspool of an county for promoting this garbage. Every other league run by Howard County Rec is age base..U11, U12, U13, etc...
Obviously someone has ulterior motives and wants to get in good with private schools or clubs.

Wrong - Every other league run by Howard County is U15, U13, U11, U9 in which kids play with kids a full year older or a full year younger - the same difference you are complaining constantly about in the Grade based club league with all these supposed holdbacks.

If there was U15, U14, U13, U12, etc. in the other county leagues, I would have some sympathy for you, but one is no worse than the other.

You must be a Crab parent or a Howard County Recreation employee with that logic. "U" stands for under . The next thing is called a number (15,13,11, etc). So meaning is UNDER (15,13,etc) ...That means it is age based. No one gets a select advantage for being older. Everyone gets to be the "oldest" at one time. Not like the Holdback/prefirst crowd who somehow think that their child is entitled to be the oldest player always thru their entire YOUTH playing days.

Not the guy you are talking to. But I think he was referring to the two ages per group. So yes there is a U for under but then there is a two year gap.(U15-U13) So the only way to make it a one age peer level is to have a U15,U14,U13,and a U12. This would be the most fair. But when you have the U15 to U13 gap you only stop the double holdbacks. Which will clean this issue up some. But you will still have the repeat 8th grader playing in the spring with his club. Not playing with his high schools JV team like all the correct no cheating kids.
