Bringing up the couple of 7th and 8th grade club players is hurting many programs. Girls in 9th, 10th, 11th that are serviceable players are quitting because some underclassman are jumping up in the batting order. So on lots of these teams you have a handful of really good club girls, the middle girls have quit after getting squeezed and the girls filling out the roster were recruited in gym class. The only one benefitting is the 7th and 8th graders padding their athletic resume but the program suffers.
