It is just another tournament and based on the scores in the bracket play, clearly there were various levels of teams that participated. I can't speak for the man, but every team makes its own decisions based in the judgement of the respective coaches. Maybe Bandits wanted both a challenge and a winter vacation in the sun. Don't overthink things.
