Do you really still care how teams are ranked? Unfortunately, times have changed so much that even in 8th grade, wins or losses don't mean anything. As long as your kid plays his game and stands out as a team player and a strong individual, has good grades- well then the rest is taken care of. College coaches are eyeing these kids already and they will be the first to tell you they could care less what team is 1-2-3 or 10th. Stop the rankings! Let the kids play and tell them to do their best on the field and in the classroom. Period.
can't deny that the college coaches are more likely to come out to watch the top 5 teams over a team towards the bottom. I guarantee one of the kids on one of the top 5 teams will be the first to commit
Kids care immensely about the team results, and so do the parents, and if they don't they probably aren't on one of the top teams.
