Coaches will go to programs they know and trust not a new program trying to make a name with one talented team. Playing ability is only part of the equation. There is character , work ethic and much more. This type of information comes from the club teams and it requires a high degree of trust and credibility. You are nuts if you think one great team in a program buys credibility for an unknown director. If the number one team's best players were to leave and go to Express or 91 those teams would be the number one team talent wise and those kids would have the benefit of the recruitment history of those teams. Why risk it with an unknown? You get one chance at this. Do you even know your teams future plans for recruitment help? All it takes is a couple of top kids to leave the number one team and there goes the best team will be followed by colleges theory. Further beating Express by three goals and icon by one is not so impressive to college coaches that it would make them follow that team around. Thats why they really want to talk to the HS coach who can give a much more detailed background. Hey, these clubs are making hundreds of thousands by making people believe they need them to get recruited. College coaches are looking for players who can help them win, period.
