Travel lacrosse is about winning in tournaments. Tight games are a tough lesson on kids this age who dont play. As the travel teams get younger and younger each year, the "lesson" on their young brains get tougher and tougher. Seeing a kid crying after their team WINS is tough to see, much less console. It is something that every parent must come to grips with. Do you want your kids to be on the bottom 1/3 of the team that does well? Or would you rather your son be on the top 1/3 of a mediocre team?

Is it about the practices or the games?

I will ask my son that before we sign up for tryouts, and go with what he says. Just because it is about the kid, right?
