This dad is a complete jerk BUT unfortunately he is right. No matter how good my son is he will never play for teams like the Pack. Why surround yourself and your kid with people like this? He can have fun and still learn the game on plenty of other teams were you don't have to deal with guys like this. Simply trash!
I think you are knocking a team without actually being part of it. Of course there are bad apples on every team, but I have been involved with 2 different organizations, and MOST of the parents and kids have been awesome. Just make sure you want your kid on a team so he can get better, not just be on the "best team". That only makes parents feel good. I would worry more about who is coaching than if you win all the time.
