If we're going to have to play a significant amount of our summer games against other yj teams the very least cr can do is make the mitchell field scrimmages a club party and have a big bbq there for us

Thank you. This will be our first year of girls' travel lacrosse. We will be coming from Queens so it will be tricky. Any suggestions?

Stay away from the teams that practice in suffolk county. You will never get there and back in any reasonable amount of time. I know that Team Elevate is in Cold Spring Harbor (Nassau County) and Liberty is in Nassau as well. Many of the others are in Suffolk.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think my daughter is going to try out for both Liberty and Elevate. We went to a few Elevate clinics this Winter. Coach seemed like a good guy and also hear good things about Liberty.

Liberty is out of Manhasset. Good program. Some Express Girls practice at Kellenberg in Uniondale. Good Luck, Soccer is for Fall. :-)

I would go watch liberty and elevate in a fall tourney before commiting to either one - lots of craziness on elevate sidelines

Liberty is just not that good. But they are local.

Thank you. Good to know. Definitely not interested in sideline craziness . Uniondale is pretty easy to get to for us. I didn't realize that Express had a girls' program. Will look into that also.

Express is mostly boys program now. The girls program has gone downhill the last several years. I would go to a few and see what you think. I wouldnt listen to people who say things like (crazy parents, etc.), those people are far more crazy since they are the ones sitting on here ridiculing other clubs. Go and see for yourself and you can judge what is crazy or not.

Don't listen to all the noise on here. Experience it for yourself. The Elevate clinics are excellent and you have seen that for yourself and the program is run the exact same way. Incredible attention to detail. Talk to them if you are interested, experience the difference for yourself. Ask questions but the last thing you should so is listen to the loudmouths on here. We called and looked around and you should do the same. See which programs are willing to give you the time of day when you call and that will be the experience you have when you join. What you see is what you get.

Team 91 has a nice B level program and is very well run just think the practices in Farmingdale might be a little far from Queens. Do not be insulted but if you are from Queens some of the top clubs like Yellow Jackets, Top Guns and even Liberty may be a little overwhelming for your daughter if she hasn't been playing for the last five years. Maybe look at South Shore and Wave practice in Nassau and are reasonably priced.

had a 2021 on Elevate this summer. she had an incredible time. it was our first year. very competitive team. beat Top Guns 2021 Black and lost 3-2 in a playoff game to best YJ team so by LI standards we held our own. the club is super family oriented and my daughter made a lot of nice friends BUT I will say, go to a couple of tryouts. We did and we saw what was out there. tryouts alone will give you a vey good idea as to what a club is like and how it is run and how the parents are.

With the exception of one older age group, team 91 is not strong at all. My daughter played there and it is a BOYS program. Girls are a complete afterthought. The program is completely disorganized. There was zero communication and people run I g it had no clue. A lot of girls left there last year and they had trouble fielding teams in some age groups and even had to have spring tryouts to fill rosters. If you have a boy then that would be the right move, this is not a girls program. South shore elite is small and unknown.

That is so true, In last two weeks he organized charities for 2 elevate families in need due to tragic incidents - not something you would EVER see from another club. Things he doesn't publicize. He and this club is really what it means to be part of a club.

I do not really know him, but my girls (including a 2nd grader) went to 2 of his clinics. They are not elite players, and he could not have been more attentive to them (including cutting and taping my little one's stick, which was a little too big).

And, that is exactly how he is with the kids which is most important. The clinics he runs are amazing, high energy and takes time to watch EVERY kid regardless of age, skill, etc. This is why people need to experience things for themselves and not listen to what people say on here. or listen to the "I heard".....

There were 6 2021 girls on the Icon 2020 team. There were a total of 23 girls on the team roster. For a first year team, they did well winning the Shamrock Shootout and LI LaxFest.

They won Shamrock because all the other 2020s were playing up in 2019. It was a rebel vs green machine final for the real 2020 teams that took place up in 2019. If you think Icon could even step on field with either of those teams, you are dreaming. You think you won the tournament but you have no idea what is really going on.

Here is the truth about the Coach. He is a man who is a very good coach at practices and does run a family-type club. Everyone stays together but as in any club, there are cliques. He is very driven to make Elevate a strong name on the East Coast. The club is very organized. However, he is very good to the people/players in his inner circle and on his top teams. If you are on a lower team, your team is just practice to the top teams. You and your daughter will feel a little left out. He practices all teams together which is not a good thing if you are on a lower team. On the top team side, there is parent coaching and they definitely promote certain players over others. Our team did not go to the tournaments we should have this year. If you don't drink his Kool-Aid you will hate being there and so will your daughter. The lower teams are an after thought.

I have to disagree with the afterthought comment, at least for this year. The new (last year) director of the girls’ side ran a great program. Great communication, instruction and a great family atmosphere. It was my daughter's first year in a travel program, and she loved it. A lot of attention from top coaches, mostly HS coaches with college assistants, and she really grew from it. They are finally following the YJ formula of HS coaches supplemented with college girls. I did hear from my friend whose daughter played there two years ago that it was an afterthought, but the girls program is its own entity now from what we experienced and the girls’ director made it a top experience.
Several of the older teams were very good, showing well in the top tourneys (undefeated in the Capital Cup) ect. And my daughters' young team had some good talent, and hopefully will draw some more this fall.

Interesting take on things but not quite the same as our experience. Have a kid NOT on a top team and thought the practices were great. We welcomed the opportunity to practice with the better teams, playing with better kids, makes you better. We did not feel left out at all. Totally felt like we were part of the club and kids had a great bonding experience with girls on many of the teams. And yes, coaches play the better kids (it is competitive travel lacrosse) and no matter what club/team you play on, that will be the experience where better kids will play more. However, overall, the playing time was very fair and my child was not one of the better kids. Our Elevate experience was a great one and look forward to returning next year.

Yes, teams are picked by taking all the Manhasset kids and giving them uniforms.

You should really call the teams you are interested in and hear what the teams have to say and not listen to what goes on here. Ask them about tryouts, practices, fall tournaments, winter leagues, number of kids on a team, what's included in the fees, etc. DO not do your research on here. I would have wound up in a bad place had I listened to the people on here and after talking to the clubs and attending 4 tryouts, you will see and feel what is right for your child.

Are you sure they were writing about 91? It doesn't sound like it. The girls program is a complete train wreck! Good communication? Organized? There is no way this is about the 91 girls program.

I do see your point, however, the Elevate program at the early high school level is driven based on his daughter being on that team (who is a good lacrosse player)and his personal relationships with parent coaching. My daughters team did not go to any important tournaments and we had only 13 girls on the team. We will not be coming back to try out. That is not to say that Elevate would not be a good program for her daughter. But I stand by my comments. My daughter did get great practices out of the program. He also has burned alot of bridges with lacrosses coaches which I know for a fact. Has been told not to return to tournaments for various reasons. He is known to be explosive at games. These are all facts. If you have been around lacrosse for a few years you would know this information. He can also be very rude when he wants to be.

Yes, I was refering to 91. Was very happy with the return on investment and my daughter loved it. I know from friends that this was not the case several years ago, but the new director and coaches were great this year.

This was in regards to the 91 Girls program

Are you sure they were writing about 91? It doesn't sound like it. The girls program is a complete train wreck! Good communication? Organized? There is no way this is about the 91 girls program.

My daughter LOVED her 91 coach this year and great communication and good side line with NO drama.
I would suggest to do your research and make the best decicion for your girl. 91 was great, and can't go wrong with TG, YJ either. All great programs. TG and YJ do draw top talent, and the talent on my daughter's 91 team was solid, and they are really growing.

The 91 girls better not get comfortable. Once 91 buys yellow jackets their spots on the top team will go away

It would be the YJ girls that should be nervous. The spots will be filled by effort and ability, not the fact that they were on the Hornets 4 years ago or that their big sisters were YJs.

Where is this coming from? The first I heard of this was on here, but very often the rumor mill is the start of the public leak. Is Spallina buying out YJ? Is there a merge or is this just more stirring the pot.

You are saying the girls 91 teams are better than the YJ Teams? Interesting.

Its coming from TG parents starting crap.....Not heard this from anyone else...With 91, both boys and girls side, and DEF not true.....Almost laughable!!

Not saying better, just that a merger provides an oppty for an organization to get rid of some of the political baggage at the bottom of their rosters.

I know about 1/2 dozen girls left 91 for Elevate last year, the kids and parents said that the talent at Elevate is way beyond 91 and the program itself is so much better. I can only tell you from speaking to parents that have experienced both. I don't know anyone who left elevate for 91.

This wS the first year for. 91. Girls that the response has been so positive. If girls left last year, they have not experienced the changes. 91 needed to spend more time and d edgy on the girls side. The new director and coaches did a great job. I do think it will continue to grow and be positive.

Well, my daughter's team had girls that left from TG Black and YJ. But that being said, go to a program that works for you and your daughter, and if it is Elevate, that's great. I just wanted to correct someone who was stating as fact that has no idea what they are talking about. 91, as of this past year was well run, with communication and coaching being top notch. That is fact.

YJ's were working the sidelines this summer looking to expand to even more teams and girls. Will be a very interesting Fall. What does that say about the other programs if people would rather be on the 6th or "F" team rather than bee on the 2nd team of a another program?

Who would really pay to be on a 4th/5th/6th/7th team? Why? Absurd. Those teams are not recognized by that club at ALL!

I agree 91 was very well run this year and the coaching was top notch. They might not be as talented as some other clubs but they are definitely moving in the right direction. Interested to see where this program will be in the next few years with the Spallinas and all the high school varsity coaches involved. Say what you want about how much of a family Elevate has become but when push comes to shove the CSH kids come first as do the Manhasset kids at Liberty. Also Elevate is starting to price themselves out of many communities just look at how expensive their camps are double the price of what Top Gun offers.

There's not a large percentage of CSH kids at Elevate. Coaches kids and owners buddies kids come first

True about the lack of talent at 91, that is obvious if you ever watch them. Sounds like it's being run better though. My daughters Elevate team had 2 CSH kids which is less than 10% so I wouldn't say that is a lot.

Lack of talent is clearly an issue with 91. MOST not ALL but most of their teams (80% or so) do not play in any competitive tournaments. They play mostly in tournaments on LI and dont fare too well. They do not go to National Draw, Lax for Cure, etc. like YJ, TG, Elevate, etc. and play teams like M&D, Skywalkers, etc. Most 91 teams are not exposed to high level competition. I would think the fact that they play in low level tournaments and play B level teams and do not fare well, makes them a C Team. Again, this for MOST of their age groups.

If you mean MOST of their teams as their 3rd-7th grade, you are partially right. They go to Brine Club Championship where M&D And Skywalkers play. They go to tourneys on LI where YJ play (Babylon Lax Blast) and Hofstra where TG play. ALL of the grades above that go to all the top recruiting tourneys.
SO if you want your all star 4th grader to play other YJ teams and pay all the tolls and hotels in Maryland have at it! That's the biggest complaint from parents at that age group.
Getting the coaching and development with an age-appropriate tournament schedule is a good thing.

They used to say this about the boys 91 cub when it started. They had weak teams, would not be able to compete with express, etc. They got their boys program settled and soaring in about 6 years. During that time, they did lose sight of the girls program, which IMO- should not have been started until they solidified the boys program. I bet in a few years, 91 will be a strong girls club as well. It is about business, knowing lax/ having connections. Spallina knows about both. I think they will continue to bring in the bigger names for the girls, solid coaches, and in time you will see them growing. I find it interesting though, with the boys, they started focusing on the younger teams and grew the program up. With the girls, it appears they are focusing on some of the older teams first. GL to all the girls and may they land on a team where they are happy and learning. At the younger years, it should be about development and winning should not be a priority. The older years should be about exposure and recruitment. Winning is still important, but getting the kids into the right showcases and in front of the right coaches is half the battle. I think you will see continued positive growth in the girls program.

This was my older daughter's summer schedule. BTW National Draw is not a recruiting tournament Traveling with your 11 year old all over the Northeast to play other LI teams doesn't make your daughter better.
For the person who was asking about a good team for their daughter, read some of the comments here, the way they speak negatively about other programs; they bring that same crap to their sidelines!!
The ones that are on here just sayiing possitive stuff about their programs and not saying anything negative about other programs, I think says a lot about them and the programs they are involved in.

[/quote]

Yes, it's great to have the Spallina name, but they don't have the right Spallina involved on the girls side - the one who coached HS County champs, D2 national champs and now D1 Stony Brook. His focus is on the boys side.

This was my point about poor communication from 91. Even on here the 91 staff posting the message above is posting hotel info for tournaments that have past. Their commuication is lazy. Example above. Nothing has changed.

I will admit that, as a dad who is new to Long Island Elite club lacrosse, I am a little surprised by the aggressive nature of the texts and the venom some of the programs (parents) seem to have for the other programs. In most of the tournaments my kids have played in over the years (not at elite level, but still high quality), the parents seems more concerned that the kids play hard and try their best, and have fun. Personally, I regularly cheer for girls on the other team who make a great shot or a nice save.

Say what you want about how much of a family Elevate has become but when push comes to shove the CSH kids come first as do the Manhasset kids at Liberty. Also Elevate is starting to price themselves out of many communities just look at how expensive their camps are double the price of what Top Gun offers.

Saw their 2018 team play this summer. They were just not competitive at any level against teams that were not very good. My friends daughter said going to some of the tournaments was absolute torture. She and a few other girls will not be going back.

It's crazy that so many people have so much to say about other teams, why do you care? If your daughter is happy, growing and having fun that's all you should care about. Not all kids have a desire to play on a "top" team or even have the skill to do so but that doesn't mean they shouldn't play. Put your kid where they will succeed and have confidence and don't worry about what anyone else says. There are great people on every team and there are crazies on every team, you'll know if a team is right for your child and your family.

Last year 5 non travel girls on my daughters High School team went on to play in college 3 in divison 3 (2 via tryout, 1 recruited through video), 2 in division 2. I know for sure 1 of the d2 girls got some money not sure about the other one. Three of the freshman d3's got significant minutes. My other daughter plays travel because she likes it. Point is there is always a place to play in college if your interested even if you don't play travel. Now if you want that half ride, well I think most kids are born with that gene and just fine tune their skill through practice and a travel program.

So not being in the orginization, you know where they asked to be placed? Are you the same person on here who is the schedule guru and says TG and YJ always manipulate their schedules?
Enjoy being on the 3rd YJ team and paying all that travel money to play othe YJ teams in other states.

As per Webster Dictionary............

Definition of Crazy: mad, insane <yelling like a crazy man> AKA Yellow Jacket Parent

Definition of Insane: mentally disordered : exhibiting insanity AKA Yellow Jacket Parent when daughter's team is losing

Crazy parents is one thing-crazy director AKA Elevate is just plain embarrassing

Dave is so crazy that he drops anything to help out any kid or family in need.

That is so true, In last two weeks he organized charities for 2 elevate families in need due to tragic incidents - not something you would EVER see from another club. Things he doesn't publicize. He and this club is really what it means to be part of a club.

Not to mention the charity work he does for underprivileged kids during the holiday season.

It's called marketing - that seems to be the on thing that elevate is good at - website looks great too and it's downhill from there

[lacrosse] YJ Parent I am shocked that 91 is sitting here bragging about the talent in their GIRLS program? Where in the world is this coming from? Yes they playing the YJ tournament and the best 91 team in most age groups is equal to about the 4th YJ and would lose to the 3rd YJ team. They are NOT a top team from Long Island. Where in the world is this coming from? The only LI teams I would say go and compete at a high level are YJ, TG and Elevate (at most, not all ages) but give them credit for going to the hard tournaments and playing the best teams out there). Team 91, really? I mean come on people! They are a C club at best playing B or C clubs in B level tournaments. Let's call it what it is and move on.

Please stop comparing Elevate to Yellow Jackets and Top Gun. They are closer to the lower half teams you continue to bash on this thread than those two clubs.

That's not what the 2017 YJ parents were thinking when they lost to Elevate at the rise. Let's hear all the excuses.......

My daughters 2021 Elevate team beat TG black at National Draw and lost 3-2 to the best YJ team in their last playoff game. I am confused why they can't be compared?

This seems to be the problem with LI- we have so many clubs, we dilute the talent pool. Imagine if we had three major clubs with three super teams? Then the B teams would also be fairly strong. Some clubs have one or two strong teams, but then the rest of the years are weak. I know everyone wants a piece of the pie, but it is hard to compete out of state sometimes when you have a lot of good teams coming from LI, but others states send 1-2 great teams.

I'm tired of this pathetic attempt to assert that 2017 Elevate is better than YJ.

No excuses will be offered for the 1goal loss at the Ride. I wasn't there. However, shouldn't you also remind everyone of the results at U15 Nationals? Elevate lost to both the YJ 2018 Blue and 2017 Gold teams. What do you think the result would have been had they played 2017 Blue?

Also, zero Elevate players made the U19 National Team. But, there are 5 YJ players among the 7 girls selected for the team from Long Island. Hopefully no one will be ignorant enough to accuse those evaluators of favoritism and bias.

Everyone on this thread knows that the Yellow Jackets program is very strong. All the "hating" comes from people who are wondering if their kid will get the same opportunities and exposure on other clubs. Figure that out and take your daughter to the appropriate tryout. This is not rocket science.

Talent pool is diluted because there are too many teams on LI??? Seriously?

My daughters 2021 Elevate team beat TG black at National Draw and lost 3-2 to the best YJ team in their last playoff game. I am confused why they can't be compared?

And lost to M&D 10-3 who had their goalie playing in the field and every other girl playing out of position as well.

There are NO overage (as you call them) currently on the TG 2020 black team. If you believe there are, which there are Not, give some proof to support your fictitious claim.

Stop with all of your accusations . My kid has been on the TG 20 Black for two years and every kid on the team is going into 7th grade.

Not sure if it is accurate, but the story goes a few of the girls repeated a grade and "re-classed" their graduation year. Not sure if it is true and I have no problem with it, but I believe that is the accusation.

Thank you for the clarification but was the snide after remark necessary? This is why so many of the girls playing have [lacrosse] poor nasty attitudes on the field. Apparently the apples don't fall far from the trees.

That is not even close to true. You have 4-5 true 2020 girls on that team who could play with and against 2019s and be just fine.

That isn't the point. All the top 2020 teams have true 2020 girls that could play up and do "just fine". The problem lies with older girls playing down. It is the problem with a grade based system instead of age based. Wrong-minded people are incented to hold their kids back. The TG 2020s have held back kids on the roster. Makes a big difference, particularly at the 11,12,13 age levels when physical development of girls tends to be drastic. It says nothing about their talent level, they are a very good team. Just one that has an age advantage, that's all.

There are no older kids on the team! I think what has you confused is that 7-8 of them played on the TG 2019 three years ago because they were that talented - let's move on now and find the next excuse because this one is bogus and has no merit

Impossible ! The whole team is older than everyone else ! Every single one of them is 14! They have to be because my daughter is the best and she would never lose to a team that plays by the rules!

Actually, it is playing by the rules. The problem is the rules themselves. You shouldn't play by grade in a game as physical as lacrosse. Just like in hockey you should play by age. Kudos to TG 2020 for being a good team and playing by the rules, even if they have some older girls. The rules should be changed tho.

Too funny . Why do you TG people even reply. Do you have kids on the team that are already 13 and thus are school hold backs , yes. Do you have kids that will turn 13 prior to December 1, yes, again making them school hold backs . Are these kids allowed to play in grade level tournaments , yes.If you took those kids off your team and put them on YJ or TG or SW would the outcome of those games be different , I believe so . If those teams took a few kids off their 2019 teams and played them would the outcomes of those games be different , I believe so. Your best players on TG 2020 happen to be older than many 2019 players, is what it is but why bother denying it , not illegal as the rules are at this time. What I find interesting is that your 2019 superstar is actually a 2020 graduation year yet she gets to pick what age she plays at ( good for her playing age appropriate ).

I don't know if TG 2020 has oldt kids or not. However, your explanation means that there are probably older kids on all teams at all age levels so I woud say it probably all equals out and is not anything to worry about.

Maybe some of the kids were held back a grade for legitimate reasons unrelated to lacrosse. I do notice an inordinate number of grammar and usage errors on many of the posts. Perhaps maybe there is a little too much emphasis on lacrosse as college tool.

They will not reply because they are the [lacrosse] person who knows the truth but refuses to discuss it. They try to misdirect but notice no TG 2020 parent will come on here and deny they have school age holdbacks.

I am trying to make sense of all of this 2020 Black banter. You think that the TG 20 Black team has "kids" meaning more than one that are too old to be rising 7th graders.Someone has come on here and singled one of the kids out by naming her town. The 'Pequa kid that you singled out is a phenomenal athlete that is for a fact 12 years old and going into 7 the grade. Is she tall? Yes. Does she play up on older teams in the off season in other sports? Yes she does. The 20 Black team has 24 kids on the roster. Can I say that I know for a fact that every kid is 11&12 years old ? No I can not make that statement. Is my kid on the team and is she 11 ? That I can say .

We are talking about 11 & 12 year old girls that are playing a game. Please let it go. You are obsessed with a team that your kid doesn't play on! I have been around this team for the past two years and have never though that any of the girls could be reclassified. I wish you and your daughter well with whatever team she plays on. Please take the 'Pequa kid off your too old to play on a 2020 team list she is 12 end of story.

Who's going to YJ - the Pequa kid or the 2020 Superstar who plays on 2019? Oh wait no one really cares! Worry about your own kid and stop worrying about other people's kids.

Because the proceeds from our annual "optional" BBQ goes to recruitment scholarships. Unlike the NCAA, we pay our players!

It's the same on Jones team. Do the camp and training and move up the bench.

Take any one, or even better two kids off 2020 black it doesn't matter, they still dominate. They are strong because they have a dozen kids who are well trained to play the right way with quick precise ball and player movement. They were brought to the team with high lax IQs. Add the fact that they have pretty much the only real coach TGs has, they become a solid team. They play at their best when they avoid isolation plays and keep to the motion. Take any players in question of age off the team( and I'm not so sure there are any) and they still win.

According to this poster who seems to know the details, the TG person who said "There are no older kids on the team! I think what has you confused is that 7-8 of them played on the TG 2019 three years ago because they were that talented - let's move on now and find the next excuse because this one is bogus and has no merit"
Is flat out lying. Are you a liar?????

Amen to that!

Is this a joke.Watch them play the whole offense including the draw is run thru one kid. Watch them in a close game and see if they take their superstar out of the game, no way. Watch in the big games and they do not play some kids at all while some kids do not come out of the game.Very good players at the top of that team with not very good players at the bottom.I think the 2015 will be different than the 2014 in this age group much like 2013 was different than 2014.Watch out for YJ as we have played both their top teams and they are deep , move a couple kids up and down or move a couple kids positions ie middies to attack or defense and they may surprise you.

Yes, the kid is an amazing athlete, why wouldn't you use her abilities to help win? It is travel lax and I'm pretty sure winning is the goal. However, she is by no means the entire team. There is a group of truly talented kids on the team (top kids). They all do their part to make the team successful. No to worry TG 2020 black will continue to grow and dominate!

Not worried at all but don't fool yourself without that kid you are not nearly as good as you think. I get its travel lax but if the team is so deep why the need to play some kids so much more in tight games. Also its 11 y.o. lacrosse so get over yourself. A group of truly talented kids, ask anyone who has played your team and they will all only remember one kid. When you people say you would win even if she were on the other team you are fooling yourselves, and really insulting her.

How long have all of you been around sports? Many sound new to this, here's how this usually goes, the biggest, strongest kids on the team stand out, this year. If they continue to grow and stay the biggest and fastest kid on the team they continue to stand out. 9 times out of ten the other kids catch up and they melt back into the pile. The smaller kids who dominate stand the best chance at continued dominance several years down the road. I have watched countless adolescent athletes in countless sports trend back to the median, Getting excited over a jump start 11 year old is ridiculous. Come back in at least three or four years and you will have a better idea what your dealing with.

You really can't comprehend the attitudes of many of the parents on the top teams .... YJ , TG, they all think their 7th grader is going to start this year on Varsity

Not sure what you are all talking about, CR told us that if we paid over $3,000 a year starting with the Hornets and stayed with it until 12th grade - no cheating, do every clinic, use her personal trainers, play winter league, eat her magic luau bbq food and wear bee apparel 7 days a week my daughter would be guaranteed a spot on a D1 college program with lots of money. She would also be recruited by 9th grade regardless of my daughters DNA.

I think everyone needs to be realistic about their kids abilities and the parents on my daughters team are definitly drinking the kool aid after a banner 6th grade summer season LOL

My 7th grader WILL start on Varsity, she's also 15 and plays on 2020 (we knew when she was 2 she was gonna be a superstar so we held her back a few years) she's small but we're confident she'll grow and kick the tall kids a** and she's been recruited by 12 schools already.

Here's an idea, why don't you spend more time watching your own kid play? is it it too uncomfortable? Also, take two best players off yj blue and they would have there hands full with the C team and couldn't compete with the B team

If you don't know who it is then it aint your kid! The team wins or losses depending on two middies, evryone but you knows who they are

What happened when that one kid got tossed from your game against MD, you got smoked , was not even close .Remove that one kid and your team is average.

Whats sad is you are so clueless, there is nothing to know about your TG team other than stop the one kid. Good to know you speak for all TG parents, you sound like a know it all toolbag. [/quote

Stop the one kid and you still lose!

What happened when that one kid got tossed from your game against MD, you got smoked , was not even close .Remove that one kid and your team is average.

Average? Not even close! Were already losing when she got tossed! Lost yes, got smoked no.

It's tough being at the top when people have to go back over a year and talk about the teams last loss.

I would like to address a few things. 1st I believe the father or mother was speaking about girls still growing up. Not 1 smaller kid in particular. 2nd the dad on 2020 yj blue that doesn't believe a couple of girls are so much better is just ignorant. Your kid stands out because what's on her head and not in it. Just because your coach tells you how great she is at $$$ training. Of course she will say that to keep the money train rolling along. You are nuts!!! Why do you care how good or bad tg is. 3rd I bet if you took the 2 better kids and put them on jones, and you took the 2 lesser kids (just saying) there is no doubt they would hand your team a loss. I know a couple of girls pretty well (seen them play for yrs). I bet if someone on our team reached out to them they may jump ship. 4th relax!!! Is your daughter having fun? Mine is and that is all that really matters. 5th. No way that girl going to jones.

Wonder what would happen if you split the team in half to go play 7v7 fall tournaments? Would the team with the dominate player win every time they matched up?

I'm absolutely amazed how many parents have no real sense. TG is better than YJ. Or Blue is better than Gold. Or these kids are the whole team. What is this all judged on? Other than Curcio playing Jones this season, what is this based on? National Draw? Neither TG Black or YJ Blue played many tough teams this season. Most were blowouts against teams that had no chance from the opening whistle. Including teams in their own club. Both teams have plenty of talent. Are there a couple of girls that may be better than most? Of course. But there are 12 girls on the field and they did a fine job for both clubs this season. Honestly, I hope it gets better as the girls get older because I don't think anyone enjoys these useless blowout tournaments. Except BS and CR, of course.

I would not worry about the superstar kid she will soon be out there to make only one kid look better. Everything all great now that you guys are winning your games but that team will implode come recruiting time when you cool aide drinkers realize what is there 5 total attack kids w the connected one never leaving the field, 3 full middie lines . Next year the plan switches to run everything from X and the superstar will learn in a hurry her job is to make the connected one look good.

As a NY Jet fan, I know how you feel. Not a day goes by I don't wish we could make the patriots go away. What you need to realize here is that nearly all the post here on this topic are from YJ parents. Wish yourselves away.

I doubt that. There is no need for yj parents to constantly have to come on here and boast about how good their program is so it may be others just stirring the pot and trying to throw it the yjs way. The bottom line is YJs get recruited more than any other club. It's not boasting or bragging - it is what it is. Look at the college commit list on yj site. you all hate the YJs so much there is no reason to come here and put the club down. If you're happy with where you chose your kid to play then no need to bang your chest about how horrible yjs are. Be happy and move on. Carol rose knows what she's doing.

[You really can't comprehend the attitudes of many of the parents on the top teams .... YJ , TG, they all think their 7th grader is going to start this year on Varsity [/quote]

I don't think all parents think that their seventh graders are going to start on or even make a varsity team. However, there is a rising seventh grader who has high school level skills per older players in her town. Children are less likely to wear foggy goggles so she probably is a truly exceptional player.

Many kids have played up on varsity as 7th graders and been successful. The kid that plays up is in fact age appropriate to be playing 2019 and yes had the stick skills of a high school age kid but honestly so do most 6, 7,8 grade kids on the top travel teams .Will be interesting to see how she responds to the more aggressive play of high school kids , she is not big nor a physical specimen by any means.

Be more concerned about her social maturity and not her lacrosse IQ you idiots. Boys, drinking, parties etc, etc. Except for you crazy travel lacrosse parents looking to build a lacrosse resume its a bad idea to mix middle school kids with high schoolers.

I think this topic was addressed on last year's girls' varsity thread. I has been discussed more than once.

That's just what they are, rumors. You certainly shouldn't believe everything you hear!!

Wait until end of October when all the tryout dust settles, we will see where everyone lands, we will then have a better idea of which teams look strong.

Sounds insane that anybody would be willing to leave an established team and go to a start up program. The coach looked great coaching a very talented team. You'll find out what type of coach he really is when you don't have all that talent.

So funny , isn't that what everyone said about TG a couple of years ago. If the guy is as good a coach as all you TGs said then why would you not follow him, or at least go to the tryout . I forgot BS wants his money now hoping you don't go and check out other clubs .

He may be the only coach between YJ and Top Guns who has a clue how to coach. All of those coaches who work for YJ have been getting kids who play travel year round...their HS just have more kids who pass and catch...not necessarily know the game...they are not being taught anything other than “go to the goal” and just physically try to push and intimidate on defense...what are they learning? all of those athletes and how many have really produced at the next level? Don’t give me the few that have done well INSPITE of the coaching you think they are getting

All he wants is the best 2020 TG Mid. She goes Legacy and he's a legit threat and TG becomes average. 1 scholarship and your program is on the way.

Those kids were born with it and fine tuned a little at college. Some 22 year YJ summer coach didn't make them what they are no way
