you are right their is only one original player from 4th grade but their are a lot of ex-extreme kids playing on other teams that are the stars of their team.
Not easy playing in SL system, each player has very limited role. Players move on to where they can develop more as a lacrosse player.
Do not believe young players benefit from a youth program that is run like a division one program. that's the way SL runs it and has been running the program like that since fourth grade
Some of his players will benefit the ones that have more of a role but a lot would be better off on a different team
But Parents are nuts they want to be on a winning team at all cost.

It's always the parents. They are so conditioned and focused on winning every game they have lost sight of what this travel lax thing is all about. It's about developing as a complete player. That will never happen to the level it should, if a kid is put in a box and limited to a specific role. Have to say, it does work for the team though.

My boy played on an Express A team this year and even though he struggled for minutes at times, the lax development was phenomenal! the playing time is always an issue on A teams.

How much was the tuition for 2017 this year?

We are looking at moving to a new team this year for 2017. Not happy with current team and feeding system. Does anyone know the other clubs pricing. Just trying to take that into account when we look at what they have to offer. Any info would be great. I hear, LE-$2100 91-1600, Jester-1600, TB-1200, fl$-2500...these are apprx numbers we hear..

The problem is- even though you may belong to the same club- each team is different. Under the same club, one team may be just a Spring - Summer team and in the same age group another team from the same club may be a year round team. Practices also vary in number of practices a week and length of practices. The areas the teams practice may be different as well, as it depends a lot on the coaches and where a lot of the team is from. It's smart to be a good consumer and definitely do your research, but bottom line- once you know which team your child is on, then research the coach and find out where, how much they practice and expectations of commitment. I've heard of way too many dedicated kids ending up with teammates that didn't have lax as a priority over another sport or team. That is fine if your kid is similar, and wants to continue playing two clubs or sports at once, but not great for the kids looking to go hard each week, for more than just an hour for a few weeks.

Outlaws have a good team 2017, ended up paying about 2500 all said and done this year. Maybe slightly more, well worth it.

They just are not at the top level.

Express is falling fast

Express is having tryouts in August. They will give offers and want parents to lock in with a payment before Labor Day. If you are not on their top team in a given grade, you should really consider trying to get on another groups top team that plays in A brackets. The Express 2019 and 2020 B teams really struggled this year. You are spending all that money to be on a team that is solely set up for them to make money. The B teams hardly practice and could not win many games against A teams from other groups.

Legacy is a C level org at best. The kids on their A teams wouldn't make the 91 or Express C teams. Not even close. Zummo is clueless.

No kid on Express but read many posts discussing top 2020 teams and Express "B" was consistently in the top 5. Not sure where you're coming from.

Our 2020 Legacy A team beat Express B at JDRF by double digits. I watched True Blue A beat them by a bunch an hour later. You are clueless.

The 2018 B team did not practice nearly enough.

Why was Legacy's A team playing B teams?
