Discussions covering the Long Island Dune Dawgs and Havoc can be held in this thread. From the Havoc Lacrosse site, there is information covering the merger between these two clubs and their combined mission.

The directors of HAVOC Lacrosse and The Long Island Dune Dawgs Lacrosse programs are excited to announce the combining of programs. This merger will ultimately meet the needs of ALL athletes! HAVOC will remain a "travel" program meeting the needs of all developing athletes, while our Dune Dawgs program will be a "select" team, challenging the needs of higher level athletes. We feel that this merge is going to fill the cracks that other programs may have.

Both programs will receive the college level instruction and focus on the HAVOC philosophies: discipline, hard work, motivation and knowledge of the subject matter. These are cornerstones of success on which HAVOC Lacrosse has built their philosophy. We will empower our players with winning attitudes, skill development and instill within them certain basic values such as leadership, determination, self-confidence, emotional control, mental toughness, as well as the ability to accept responsibility. Tournament play is to be just one part of values and practice.

We would like to saturate our athletes in skill development through planned, disciplined, intricate practices. College level coaches will develop practices. We believe that athletes need to have consistent reinforcement of these fundamental skills. All players are different and differentiated instruction should be taken into consideration when teaching fundamentals, selecting positions, and motivating young men. Repetition is a key to learning and feedback from players is important in maintaining functional drills. All drills will be associated to the game. We do not drill for the sake of drilling.

We also believe that TEAM cohesiveness is crucial. We want our athletes to experience the true sense of what it means to be part of a TEAM. (Responsibility, bond, dependence, goals, familiarity) Athletes need to feel comfortable, and know they can depend on their team from their teammates to their coaching staff down to the parental support from the sidelines. We believe poise under pressure is the mark of a champion, and coaches must lead by example. Poise is the end result of preparation, knowledge of your opponent, and confidence in one's ability to make correct decisions. Athletes will get a true sense of what it means to be a WINNING team, because our athletes will focus on what is truly important, becoming a more skilled lacrosse player, while also gaining values strengthened through the team.

Unlike the other pages on here, we are going to keep this a positive page just about the boys. We will not be having negative back and forth comments going on here. We play the schedule given.... Anywhere and anytime!

Well said!! This organization is about the boys, their experience and their growth as lacrosse players. There will always be haters, but we will not get into that. We show our stuff on the field.

My youngest played against havoc yesterday morning at coastal (3rd grade), thought the kids were well coached and played great. Good luck!

They are a big group of 5th graders. Thanks for the compliment about them. Coach Mac does a great job with them. This is the reason why I decided to only play for the Havoc DuneDawgs this year. As a basketball coach myself, I feel that each position on the field, (i.e. attack, midfield, defense) needs to be taught the nuances of that particular position. This will allow the kids to attain a higher level of success individually, as well as, collectively.

Based on an indoor schedule I've seen for the winter, there are teams for 3rd/4th/5&6th grade playing.
