2012 PRIDEFEST RULES
GENERAL RULES: All players must be properly equipped(mouth guards, shoulder pads, and arm pads are required) The tournament is “running time”, so all penalties will be a minimum of 1 minute. Penalties can be longer than 1 minute and/or “non-releasable” at referee’s discretion, as in standard game play. Penalties begin on the official’s re-start. Any fighting or flagrant disrespect towards an official will result in expulsion for the remainder of the tournament. No exceptions!! No refunds!! Teams need to fulfill all requirements of the schedule. Please remember all teams come from far and near expecting to play a certain number of games and we rely on the professionalism and love of the game of all involved to hold true to that commitment. GAME PLAY: TWO - 25 Minute Halves 4 Minute Halftime. No time-outs allowed. The team that is ahead must keep the ball in the box during the last 2 minutes of the 2nd half. SPECIFIC RULES: GRADES - 5/6 & 7/8
No clearing times will be in effect, though the 4-second crease rule for goalies still applies. We are relying on each coaches’ professionalism, therefore, no mercy rule will be in effect. We are hoping that all games will be competitive. A BRAVEHEART WILL DETERMINE WINNER IF GAME GOES INTO OVERTIME.
HIGH SCHOOL All clearing times are in effect(20 seconds to mid-line, 10 seconds to get it in the box). 4-second crease rule applies. No Mercy rule. OVERTIME RULE- 1 4-minute over-time period. If still tied, a BRAVEHEART will take place. “BRAVEHEART” OVERTIME RULE
SUDDEN DEATH (FIRST GOAL WINS!) Each team will field 1 player and 1 goalie Face-off Start * ONLY ONE (1) Player Per Team (position player or goalie) can be on Offensive Side of the Field, OR the play is Off-Sides.* *If the goalie goes over the midline and the ball goes out of bounds, the goalie will have 5 seconds to get back into their Goal. ONLY 5 SECONDS! NO SUBSTITUTIONS!!!
RULES RELATED TO INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Unfortunately there is no rain date for the PrideFest If inclement weather causes a game stoppage( i.e. lightening sighting) during the event, the following rules apply. A 30 minute delay will be in effect from the last lightening seen. Play will stop until the official deems the weather suitable for resuming. If there is time remaining in the game, the game will be played until the end of scheduled end time. Games need to start on the hour. If the delay is substantial, Tournament HQ may make a decision to shorten all remaining games until the tournament is back on time.
