Its amazing that just about every coach and most parents in this league all have complaints about one specific official and how he makes the game all about himself. The problem is nobody says anything because he also runs the league.

Don't think so. Nassau and Suffolk each have their own Official's Association and he isn't on either board.

He is the head of Nassau County Officials, and is a top rated NCAA official. Many have issues with him but he runs a great league and weather you like how he officiates or not he knows the rules inside and out. He is by the book as long as you know that going in you shouldn't have a problem with him.

He's the head of the Nassau County Women's Lacrosse Officials - is that a completely separate entity from the Nassau County Lacrosse Officials Association?

Agree that he runs a great league. Officials have been terrific overall.

I'd like to see the game scores posted and the standings could come out quicker, but the refs have been top-notch.

The WI v. Syosset game was not a blow out… however, your are correct GC/Smithtown game and Massapequa 7/8 v. GC 7/8 were both blow outs.

CSH 8 goal win over North Shore looks like it was lopsided too

Anyone have 7th grade game scores?

LISGYLL has given 7/8 grade girls an legitimate, competitive alternative to PAL. Can't say that for the boys.

How many Syosset parents got thrown out of the game vs. Huntington parents?

The difference was that you were spewing your [lacrosse] at 12 yr old girls and their parents and not at the ref

At my game against Syosset one parent would yell out "nice save goalie" every time Syosset scored. It was simply the worst sportsmanship I have ever heard from an adult at a 12 year old girls lacrosse game.

What is the real story?
Were 6 yellow cards issued to Huntington? IF so, for what?
Is it your argument that Obnoxious spectators justify 6 yellow cards being issued to players for conduct on the field, i.e. dangerous play and/or checks to the head? if so, that is a really bad argument.
BTW if one team received 6 yellow cards in one game, this is a situation where further action would certainly be warranted.

Anyone mention the 5 they got against CSH Friday night..The Huntington [lacrosse] who got tossed argued with 4 different parents. Mr know it all was the worse anybody ever saw. And the kiss [lacrosse] standing next to him was no better

CSH received 5 yellow cards on Friday night. I believe one kid got three. Not sure how that happened since once you get two you are out for the game.

Actually saw JF ref a game to seek revenge against a 12 year old and blew the whistle every time she made contact. This was a few years back it was utterling embarassing and he thought he made a great point against a 12 year old for crying out loud, yes folks a 12 year old. Im sure nothing has changed and according to JF its the best league in the country with the greatest refs in the world. Remember you grew up in Levittown and we dont kiss anyones [lacrosse]! (Manhasset, CSH)

Revenge against the coach who dare question a call one of his elite officials made. Stick around and you will be witness to it unless of course your from the Gold Coast. Whats the going price now for the best officials in the world back then it was $75 each.

You should handle it in house, not on a public forum. Unless you are trying to embarrass somebody on your team. Pretty weak question if you ask me.

Was a legitimate question! Unless your the parent of her, how could this be embarrassing? We have had this problem in the past and have always just looked the other way, tonight's game is important and she will be missing due to practice. Just asking if other coaches have had this issue and how it's been handled.

Travel lacrosse is all about ME and not the team. Club lacrosse kids miss games all the time across all sports. They are all afraid that if the don't show up that they will be bumped down (and remember they pay big money to live in constant fear). YJ's have always been the worst culprits and its worse now because they have so many teams in each age group.

Games over practices. Enough said. Any coach would understand that. Too bad the parents don't see it that way. I bet if you asked the kid which she would rather go to, she would say the town game.

She is 1 middle school girl. Put her to the back of the line and move on to the next girl. Your team will be fine. I've had to do it for similar situations. Other kids will step up, and maybe this girl will decide she misses playing with her school mates.

What a loser you are to refer to a 7th grade girl as a thug. also your yellow card records are incorrect. one of the best 7th graders out on the field , especially in the circle. She must have dominated your daughters team ?

That is incorrect information, had 2 in first game, then none for the remainder of season and playoffs, and championship. so that would make you a liar, and someone who spreads false rumors, and vile remarks

For 7th grade east division not one team dominated any other team that is a fact

You spend a lot of time following the careers of 12 and 13 year old girls. You must not have a life, or you should be on a sex offender list. Stay wherever you are, and away from the fields where you have no right being near. I hope your daughter has good coaches and a good program, so she does not have to listen to the twisted views of her parent.

Funny thing but CSH is playing in the championship game, and I assume you will be at home looking for the results of a game that you are not involved in, and will be posting stupid comments in the future. I would enjoy meeting you in person, a real authentic person with compassionate qualities and great insight.

Hopefully her travel coach notices how great she is in the circle and starts using her on draws.

CSH 7-4 over GC

only one yellow card. could have been 5 easy... what exactly was the point of using 3 refs? it clearly wasn't about keeping the game safe. CSH was swinging like they were splitting logs

You are such a pathetic person, and obviously never played the game, or are trying to re-live your own non eventful lacrosse past through your daughter. Joe Fanning was there keeping the score and had no problem with the game. Both teams played great, and the game was under control the entire time. Why were you even there? I thought you were banned from watching the games. I hope for your own child's sake she does not acquire any of your personality traits. CSH played great, clean defense against a very good GC team. Congratulations to both teams making it to the championship game. You are nothing but a pitiful, spiteful, twisted sore loser.

You are dead on. CSH lost to Huntington 6-5 during season, then beat them 6-5 to get into playoffs. They tied Syosset 9-9 during season then beat them by a goal in semis. They lost to West Islip by a goal during season then beat them 13-9 in the championship game. CSH then beat GC 7-4 to win the whole thing. Very balanced league, but in the end, CSH 7th Grade Champs. Congratulations.

Whatever guy (or I guess it's honey, since you've played girls' lacrosse). You must have me confused with someone else. I watched the game and if you watched it and can't acknowledge that CSH should have taken more cards, then you're delusional. Joe Fanning was shaking his head as swing after swing went uncalled. If you've ever seen Joe Fanning ref a game, you would know that he would never have allowed the game to be played in that fashion. But he would also never call out 3 of his refs (one of which was his brother) in a public forum. The single yellow card that was issued was given because, as the ref said "it's been too many of them", but they kept coming and the yellow cards didn't.

Your correct I did play women's lacrosse and have seen Joe ref games in the past, as well as a few of the games this season. If he had a problem with the way the refs were calling the game, you know for a fact he would of had a conference with them at halftime to correct situation you believe was occurring. The refs called the game consistently from beginning to end, and the only card was given at the appropriate time. I also heard that at the Mt. Sinai vs. CSH varsity game, Mt. Sinai players were swinging at CSH heads throughout the game, to the point when a CSH player picked up the ball, they were ducking not to get their heads taken off, without a yellow card all day. (Not the reason they lost). But your generalization of the CSH 7th graders I believe is off color, there were 3 refs there on the field and they obviously did not see the game the way you did. As a parent I heard Joe address both teams at the end of the game and had nothing but positive praise for both teams.

GG - if you have an issue go talk to the coach yourself and get off BOTC. Your kid took 50% of the draws last summer and there's a few other girls who are just as good if not better.

Yes I heard Wantagh 23 had a nice team; 2 lil attackers that play for TG, and a couple nice defenders. Maybe they should have brought one up to help out the varsity a bit.

Did you really expect more from Elevate? I think that they are at the same level as the top PAL teams.

I assume he means old ways as in winning all their games. It’s early but they still look like the best team in the division.

Anyone have any idea on the 2024’s. Looks like Manhasset has two teams?

Just got the schedule and looking forward to a great season. That Massapequa 2025 team was excellent last year and should set their program up for success for years to come.

GC and Huntington? Massapequa, Wantagh and CSH I bet would disagree. CSH is the best that I have saw last year.

That post was a year ago, referring to what are now the 8th grade GC and Huntington teams. I assume you are talking about 7th grade (even though I don't think Wantagh has a 7th grade team)

Yes, I was referring to 7th grade 25's. Sorry. There was a Wantagh/Seaford PAL team that was pretty good. I assumed it was a Wantagh core. Could be wrong. Thank you for your clarification. Wow, did we just have a 2 way civil discussion on BOC??

Maybe although I didn't think it was possible ha. BTW Wantagh doesn't have a pure 7th grade team - I think they combined 7/8 and are playing in the 8th

Here are the teams:
8th
Wantagh
Set Orange
Set White
Huntington
GC
Farmingdale
CSH
Long Beach
West Islip
Bayville

7th
Massapequa
Set Orange
Set White
GC
Huntington
Smithtown
Long Beach
CSH

Hopefully I didn't miss anyone. Should be a fun season.
