Are you kidding? He yells at all the kids. Even the ones he is not even coaching. It is his voice you hear at the varisity sidelines! No one elses!!

It's not fair to single GV out for being a yeller. He's just another volunteer dad who probably shouldn't be coaching. They yell bc they are not really coaches so they think yelling and intimidation gets the message across.

Please to all SWR parents do not let GV coach your kids, you can do much better. I know some high school kids that can out coach him and also out class him as well.....

He is no good for this community...Let him just fade away...

Unfortunately he is not going anywhere. He has partnered up with SB and JZ and has cozied up to the new coach and AD so now he will parade up and down the sidelines with his nose pointed even higher in the air. It is a shame what he and his band of blind followers have done to a great program and a great coach. Of course he shouldn't get all the credit for destroying the program, he had a few others leading the charge behind the scenes.

I know SB, but who are GV and JZ? If everyone knows, it's ok to put their names, right Cage?

If you want to do you own investigation, visit the Shoreham-Wading River district web site and look for the Board of Education members.

As for publicly discussing Board members, this discussion has wandered from their individual roles as part of the SWR Board of Education to individual coaching styles. This thread was opened to discuss the BoE actions related to the established High School Varsity lacrosse coaches, not to be an analysis of the BoE as coaches themselves.

Unless there is new information related to their fiduciary roles as part of the SWR BoE, BOTC believes that this discussion has been fairly well exhausted.

This should serve as a cautionary tale for any other programs to dismiss problem participants early and to be vigilant when those problems look for more involvement in your school districts operations. Looks like in SWR's case, the stars aligned and the ousted youth director got on the BOE and toppled the whole program out of spite. Good luck SWR - #1 seed in B, with a new coach and a fractured community with a lot of infighting. It can only get better from here.

Ok, thanks, and I think you're right about the topic being exhausted. I'll go figure out who they are, like you said.

Cage - do you see the irony in saying the thread started about the BoE and has wandered off topic to lacrosse? lol

Best of luck to Coach Arini - I am sure you'll do well. And hope to see Coach Rotanz on the sidelines real soon.

There is still no girls lacrosse coach. What a sad situation for these girls who work so hard to excel in the classroom and on the field. They are doing their part as most are near 4.0 students with several girls committed to D1 schools and ONCE AGAIN THE ADMINISTRATION IS FAILING!
The board and superintendent Cohen, who as we all have read have their collective heads so far up their asses they don't see the damage they are doing to a program that took over a decade to build. Upsetting and disappointing to say the least.

Haven't heard a thing. A shame what has happened to the program.
