Isn't that what Express does with every top team?

Word is that the team was a [lacrosse] show this past season - kids not showing up for practices, tournaments, etc. The real question is was it the coaching or the kids? If the former, anyone getting involved is likely to see the same eventual [lacrosse] show; if the latter, then maybe they needed to clean house and start over, but, you're talking 100% turnover at this point!

No - Express has a 36th, 37th, 38th, and 39th kid, too . . . and truly only on one team! Sign me up for that!! ;-)

Parents were complaining about the coaching, or lack there of.

If you are a former player's parent, why would you go back to that mess after what happened, and where all of these new players come from? If you are not a parent of a former player, why do you care?? As an aside, it appears that there are at least a handful of kids (and parents) from that team - solid players - that are now totally turned off of travel lax in general - nice job!

A few have found homes with other teams already. Some of the players tried to leave last year, but couldn't find a better home. Now they will have no choice. Such a shame to have to make moves at this age.

Is this a team that kids play on in addition to their primary travel team, or in place of? If you are on one of the better teams, why would you move?

Glad to hear that they are doing something. My son is friends with some of those boys and they were pretty broken up when they heard they were abandoning the team. Hope it works out for them, really good players.

Just another example of AA promising the world and it not coming true. This will be the 1st of many Igloo teams that will fold

We will see there will be an announcement in next couple of days . Make sure u come back on at that point and apologize not wasting my time on here have fun at the expense of others more importantly the kids

AA is a man of his word if he says he is going to do something he does ... ya it's a business but he cares about the kids

When you have 8-9 at practice regularly you know how that goes. Get rid of the family's that don't want to be there and get kids and family's that will be committed to their team!! Sports 101, it will work wonders!!!!!

kids dont want to go to practice, and the parents spend $3600.00 to be on the team and let them skip practice. Sucks for the kids that want to be there.

Talking to coaches from a few teams seems sign up numbers for try outs are down. As a prior post mentioned it is a bad move to make a change starting this year unless the situation is so bad a change must be made. Expect the be teams to remain the same talent wise as clubs are not looking to make changes either.

Not a bad move to stay when they are bringing in a Hall of fame 4x NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP coach Jack Kaley . Sounds like organization is making a commitment to those kids . Word is they are going to have a free separate tryout for that team on August 16th.

It's not about being on the best team any more. It's about playing time. No one gets recruited standing on the side lines of a good .team.

Looks like AA is trying to put a band aid on a situation that is already broken. You think that because you bring a big name in that your problems are solved. Really!!!!!!! Its about staying together over a period of time and developing as a team. Lets see how long Kaley stays. Your lucky if you get one year. Also who is really going to try out after all this. Typical AA get a BIG NAME pay him all sorts of $$$ and watch it fail.

True, over the years the best coaches my kids have had, were not the best players. In fact the "All Star" coaches turned out to be the worst. Playing and coaching are two entirely different things.

Your son is more then welcome to come back to make 10 ...lol I am sure they will make adjustments and find committed families looking to be coached by Jack

The problem is to send out an email saying that the team is being disbanded, only to come back and ask the same kids to come back because of the hall of fame coach. They will draw from other programs because there will be kids who want to step up to the bigger programs, and the ability to play for a professional coach instead of someone's dad. The problem is that the core of the team has been broken up, they are already looking to go to an established team that is looking to only fill a few holes. We will see what happens. I expect to see many Avalanche players trying out at 9d1, Express and Icon because of this experience.

To the poster who said ALL Star coach's make the worst coach's well how about Dave Petro at Hopkins and Gary Gait (womens) coach at SU, maybe two of the best if not the best players to play and now two of the top coach's in college. Also I would the Icon coach's(2021) over any club in country and they were two of the best ever to play. What they bring to table is unmatched for any youth program.

No disrespect but the guy is 70 something years old how will he relate to 14 year old boys.
