The 2021 Hardshell's is canked. I guess they didn't receive the player/parent interest they had hoped for. Kinda strange, being that they hyped it up as if it were a done deal and even posted photo's of the new team helmet.

Does anybody have a clue who is going to be coaching the VLC 2021 team this year?

The BLC 2021 team got rocked in the HoCo AA division.

The 2021 class overall is not strong in the DC region.

Respectfully disagree. Have 2 older sons. Back then, Crabs and Madlax were the only serious club teams. Now, the talent pool is being diluted. VLC and Black Wolf and FCA arrived on the scene. And now you have teams like NL and BLC trying to build up HS teams. If there is going to be a standout 2021 team, NL or BLC will have to cave. However it shakes out, I predict the same number of college commits out of 2021 as all the years before, with the possible exception of 2019 which looks weak.

That was the 'B' team that got rocked in the AA division.
The 'A' team came in second place in the Elite or Top division.

By comparison, the Hawks put their B team in the A division and still didn't win it

More talent now in the greater Baltimore & DC market area as the game has grown. Enough talent to support several elite clubs beyond Crabs and Madlax. Most importantly - the talent throughout the country has increased tenfold as the game grows. Although the Baltimore / Annapolis / DC private schools still produce outstanding talent, the days of the higher IQ, but lesser athletic kids still making it to the D1 level is declining due to the greater influx of talent from all corners of the country. The athleticism of the game is evolving! At the end of the day, despite your skill set and IQ - are you an athlete to elevate to the next level?

That team has had the same coach for the last 2 years, right? I don't know him personally, but I know a family with a boy on that team and they love his devotion and dedication to the boys. My son is currently trying out for VLC 2021, and I really hope that coach stays.

The A teams are all generally good to great. The B teams are all generally terrible (as most B teams are).

Everyone knows the only reason to have a B team is to make money for the club (or one guy in this case).

From what I heard:

1. Madlax has a 2017 kid who is a senior in HS. But he thinks he will PG a year, so he played last summer on their 2018 team and continues to do so.

2. Madlax has a 2017 kid who gave a verbal commitment and is going to graduate this year. But he has spent the last 2 years on their 2018 team.

3. Madlax has a 2018 kid who thinks he will PG, so he is playing on their 2019 team now.

Nice.

BLC Top Team lost to Crabs in Elite 2021 final and then beat Crabs two weeks later in NLF Event on Long Island - good squad - now DC Express and looking to add players. Without question top team in DC Region.

Everyone playing for 2nd place - Crabs will be stacked - that's ok - ok to be younger and be great team.

Those 2021 kids will move on to different clubs after the year is over and they go to different HS.

Half of the team is public school so they will need to continue to play club lacrosse to be seen

The other half is split between landon and mater dei so no reason they go to a different club

LOL. The good ones on that team will bolt. Do you really think they are going to play for "DC Express"?

If the players get good coaching and the club is convenient, why do the players have to leave.

Final VLC tryout tomorrow AM. Hoping they put together a stronger team and coaching staff than what they've gotten stuck with the last two years.

Teams that have gotten a lot better- Rock and Bitmore. Look out all your Towson people.

Oh lawd!!! Bitmore again???? Didn't we hear at the beginning how great they were....and then the games happened. They were the best 7th place team (in Hoco) in the hostory of all sports

any firsthand observations on NL, Express, VLC, and !adlax tryouts for 2021? NL was overflowing with kids.

Love the sarcasm about NL overflowing at 2021 - no one there.
DC Express had 130 at Tryouts - and will have every Top Kid in area. Next Level 2021 will not be competitive on any level.

2020 is one an done - never happen again now that Bethesda Feeds into DC Express.

Agreed the depth of talent was greater at DC Express, but to say no one was at NL is ignorant, especially since a dozen of the top tier kids were at both

I guess we'll have to wait and see the results of the fall tournaments for DC Express. Bethesda 2021 is a great team but still not a high school program (8th grade). I'd be surprised if any of the DC Express teams (2020/2019/2018/2017) will be able to field a competitive team to play in the top fall tournaments they're touting per the relationship with LI Express. Unless LI Express provides players from other regions to strengthen what should be very weak teams that would be in the B or C tier of any tournament.

NL will be weak, but not at 2020. Team should be very strong.

As for "every top kid in area", you can't be serious. DC Express will be well behind BW, Madlax, VLC and probably NL. Even teams like Cavalier and 3d may be better.

The DC Express 2021 A team will compte with the Crabs for best team in MD

The DC Express 2021 B team will be on the level of Madlax/NL/ etc

The rest of DC Express will not be very good

There are a few very good 2021 kids in the Bethesda program. Assuming they stay with DC Express, it will be a very good team.

But they'll peel off for better HS clubs this time next year. Always happens.

Has DC Express published tryout results/rosters yet?

Crabs, Madlax and VLC and FCA have. I'd be surprised if there's enough talent leftover to stock Express as a AA, let alone AAA.

Why do you keep repeating the same thing?

the DC Express Black team will be the same team as the BLC Blue team last year plus a couple of players. There were even two boys from ML capital trying out to be on that team

They will be better than every other team in the area not named Crabs

Looks like VLC 2021 was almost completely stripped and retooled. Only a handful of players from last year remain. Where did all those new boys come from? Are they all Cavaliers?

They hold open tryouts, and take the best players they see - no reserved spots so free game...

The took Madlax's #2 goalie so that was a nice pickup
