Lol keep telling yourself your daughter made it due to her hard work and not because it was a completely biased tryout run by a Dad coach and Thorn. It taints making the team for the girls that truly deserved it.

Most can’t because they live vicariously through their kids and are stunted emotionally.

Silver lining of not making the team is no travel to MD for the regional and Va Beach for the championship. Does not seem worth the trouble.

That can be true. But be honest yj and jesters do not have that many top girls - it’s so obvious. Admit it. My daughter did not try out and it’s common sense.

It’s not feasible that 160 girls tryout and 20 girls made it from the same teams. It’s not about being jealous. There are many talented girls in 2023 group. Any of Them can make it on any given day. Everyone knows no way 20 girls from 2 organizations were the top. Everyone should be appalled.

Can anyone list the top li teams. Yj and jesters ranked #1 ?? yet select 20 of their girls. How can they have 20 of the best girls out of all those clubs and girls. Come on. Admit it was not fair!! All of our girls are worthy. . Maybe ua should just let a different clubs “A” team represent each year !! That would be fair. Oh but that would not make money!! My daughter is on the UA team and I can admit this was not fair.

Yes100%. A few of those girls (about 5) would have made the team regardless of who was evaluating. It’s the other 18 that bias was a factor. That’s a fact, and sadly it diminishes the accomplishment of making the team. There a few girls on that team that stink. I’ve seen them play for years, and they’ve never done much. They were a liability on the field against top competition. And now there on a UA team? Please! Guess what team the play for?

At least 6 top guns black team were there and overlooked. Outside selectors picking the teams only way to be fair. No credibility this year.

totally appalling. but college coaches are totally aware of the manipulation... this year was an absolute joke and a half. thankfully people are on to it and will save their money next year the top lax programs already know the 5 girls they will fight over ...the rest will find their way. Always works out.

Does the screaming of the lambs keep you up at night? We all see how your daughter being a B+ player has tormented you for years. Crying foul all the time. Must be tiresome. Girls who made it will build their resume’s, no college coach will hear your view.

That's the girl that blows the close game by:
1) Missing a pass
2) Passing to the wrong team
3) Shooting a horrible shot into the goalie's stick
We all know who they are and cringe when they get the ball, just pray that they are able to pass it off real quick before getting stripped!

God the amount of complaining is ridiculous . Your kid didn’t make it because she didn’t impress the evaluators .
It’s just that simple. Everyone so bent over Jesters coach, that team is way better than anyone expected, and everyone sounds really bitter over it. The focus seems to be on Jesters having 5 players , YJ has 15 and everyone butthurt with Jesters coach ?! Lmao YJ has more than half the team and everyone else got scraps. Stop complaining. Anyone of these teams could beat each other on any given day. Move on

There are complaints every year and they are mostly from delusional parents. Over the years, the majority of the players who were selected to play for the LI Under Armour Team are the same players who go to the best college programs and have very good college careers.

Agree, the complaining is ridiculous. That said, it goes on every year. Back in 2016 CR was not involved and I do not recall YJ coaches being involved in the selection process. Back then there was only 1 team, they selected 24 players and the majority were YJ. There were 16 (2016's) 6 (2017's) and 2 (2018's) The same complaints all from the delusional parents. Just about all for those players did / are doing very well in college at many of the best programs. Of the 16 (2016's) I believe 11 or 12 are captains of their college teams. Every year there are a handful of players who are just as deserving but there just isn't room due to roster size. In most cases, the players selected are the same players who the best college programs recruit. Just look at any given year and see how many Long Island Players go on to play at the perennial Top 15 - 20 programs. Maybe 20 - 30 players from Long Island are offered spots at the Top 15 - 20 programs (and SBU skews those numbers.) The Top Programs consistently bring in the majority of the top players, that is why they are always on top. There are some parents who have a legitimate argument but most are not realistic about their daughters ability.

you guys must be new at this. first of all it is well known that alot of girls get on because of their reputation as players, not how they do that day. second, the top guns have done this in the past as well. with the 22 group. TG had to because their 21s so were weak. next..yes many YJ. how can they not? year after year, time shows they are the best on LI and maybe the best in the country. if you dont believe me then look at their 2019, 2020 team, 21 team and 22. never lost to a long island team and usually have the most depth. they win and everyone on the team plays equally. how many of you can say that about your team. NONE. That is why there are more YJs...THEY HAVE MORE GREAT PLAYERS PER AGE GROUP. as far as jesters go...they did a great job making a new team out of nowhere, adn are only going to get better with their new girl directors who are excellent coaches. stinks to stinks, especially when yo have been paying TG directors to get you on teh team and your plan did not work. oh well guest the merit system stinks. greasing teh wheel cant do it. what a shame..all those wall ball sessions at like $100 hr for nothing. and all the butt kissing for nothing. look at CR track record for recruiting. stop hating adn go try out for a real organization......suckers

You obviously don't have a daughter in the age group, and are just trying to stir the pot. Let me educate you on a few things:
1. YJ Thorn has NEVER beaten TG 2023. So if YJ has SO MANY GREAT PLAYERS, then why are they not beating other teams with ease consistently?
2. YJ Thorn does not play girls equally. Infact, some barely see the field, but are happy to sit the bench, wear bee wear, and be cheerleaders.
3. YJ Thorn had to combine teams from two other organizations just to be competitive, but still lose to other LI teams such as Legacy.
4. Jesters are not a new team. They have been around for years, and have always been decent.
5. Many of the top TG girls did not even try out for UA this year because it was a waste of time and money. Should have been cancelled but turned into a money grab. Believe it or not, there is life outside of lacrosse. It's funny watch the lemmings so wound up about a useless tournament. You do know the real UA tournament was cancelled a long time ago due to a GLOBAL PANDEMIC!
No hating on CR, she does a good job with her organization, so do others. The good players will find the right home no matter the organization. We'll see if you're still chirping away next summer when it actually counts for these girls and the real UA is back. Until then you should pipe down because you really have no idea what you're talking about. There is a lot of talent in this age group, and YJ is just another team in the mix!

Thorn is a good coach a state champ. The Jesters excellent coaches haven’t won anything with all their D1 commits. The Dad coach who was evaluating has zero credibility. Why do people refer to the Jesters as good they lost to Legacy played Phantistix and beat them by 3. Let’s wait before we say they are good. The TG girl that moved over is clearly their best player not sure she can do it by herself.

Congrats. You paid the YJ vig and got some ROI by making a team your kid couldn’t make without the biased tryout. Now she can fluff up the player bio. But..... karma sux and she will watch other more deserving players play at the next level. So who is the sucker now???

Let’s not count our chickens before they hatch.TG will come out strung next season with an already solid team, and 3 studs coming back from injury. Sad to see LD go, but without her teammates she will not be the same. Good player, but nothing better than many others. Replaceable for sure

Complaining is ridiculous? Not saying yes, not saying no, but in looking over these posts, there seems to be some real questions/observations. Reputations, suckers, CR past history, biased selections, etc. Jesters coach is the coach? 2 Jesters evaluators and 1 YJ? Or vice versa? 14 YJ make and 5 Jesters make out of a roster of 23? 2 goalies so only 2 other field positions? YJ for the past few years in the 23 class has been good, not great. They would be in B+ brackets in tournaments and not win much or at all in these tournaments. Then they had the merge. Not much changed. Did they plateau? Maybe, happens all the time - players are good early and when everyone else starts to grow, and get better, stronger faster, the talent gap closes quickly. Probably a combination of both? No club is immune to it. No one is questioning CR getting players to great schools, and banking on it going forward, can't blame anyone for thinking that way, but the 23's are not the same collection of talent of her A teams of the past. The merged team last summer, if the talent I keep hearing is loaded, stacked, etc, then why did they not roll through everyone last summer (and lose to Jesters this summer) is a fair question? With the exception of maybe a few, it is pretty hard to say anyone had a chance to create a reputation to make UA on reputation alone. When you factor everything in, 19 out of the 21 field positions went to players who the evaluators coach, or are club affiliated with, is almost a statistical impossibility. It seems a bit disingenuous to level labels of whiners, etc when taking all into consideration.

Question for the Topguns parents, why weren’t the Smiths there to protect their players? If the system is rigged and has been for years why didn’t they make the trip. Instead of complaining about Rose protecting the YJ [ChillLaxin] to the Smiths because they didn’t care enough to make the trip.

Didn’t realize you needed a club representative in order to make UA thought it was supposed to be impartial. So buyer beware if your daughters club whoever she plays for does not send an evaluator save your money. At registration it said players will be evaluated by impartial evaluators.
The only evaluators present were YJ 3 evaluators (15 players selected)
Jesters 4 evaluators (5 players selected).

It’s a 4 hour event featuring several scrimmages, where your sub’d out, where nobody passes the ball, everyone is a ball hog, if your kid is Placed on a team with little talent, she may never touch the ball. If your a goalie you may never see a shot, defender the ball is on the offensive side your entire shift? Play attack Same thing. But impartial evaluators will get it right? You think it’s bad now, try that and you’ll drown in the tears here.
It’s about politics, always has been. The Smiths know it but didn’t show. Be mad at them for not pushing their deserving players

IMO Corrigan hurt future his business. YJ Thorn had everyone of her 23 YJ make the call back game. Between Thorn and the Jesters coaches they were there only to ensure their club players were on the team.

One post criticized Thorn for taking a player that she had moved to the B team calling her a hypocrite. Wouldn’t it be even worse if she did not take the players from her A team?

For all those calling “unfairness” out there, and one stunad actually saying that their “reputations” are not build up yet, go back to Lacrosse Magazine, Inside Lacrosse, Newsday, Back of the Cage and your own Varsity coaches because THEY keep picking the same girls. Fact-(almost) every attack or middle selected not only played on Varsity in 8th grade but also scored points (goal/assist) on the varsity level on LI. That means that the varsity coaches from West Babylon, Mt.Sinai, Comsowogue, BBP, Long Beach, North Shore, Friends Academy, etc. etc Chose these same girls. One had 41 pts in 8th grade LI varsity, one had 49 and one had 89 !!
You don’t think the reputations have been established? It is your own coaches who Helped them get established. How many points did your daughter put up in 8th grade varsity? Did she even make your towns’ varsity team before 9th grade?
The list of players on this Corrigan team have been the top of LI in every other evaluation for years, this one just follows the others, including your own HS coaches.

Don’t come on here with all your facts. People don’t like facts on BOTC! They like to whine. You’re ruining it for all the whiners. Your post has too much truth to it, these girls have been picked first for everything. This is no different. Collectively they are the top of their age group ( missing one or two out of TG I’m sure ). Evals are over. Let it go already.
