I agree O'Reilly gets shafted but he would rather help develop kids lax skills than just have the kids try and win a tee shirt. Also, not every kid moved to Channy....some stayed with O'Reilly. To be honest I would want no part of Channy coaching a 4th grader.

He has only had B level teams even when they were the only team in the organization. Yes he works with the kids, but why then is he always second fiddle?

I believe it was 3 kids and a goalie. But they are very good.They also got some other talented kids.

Because in the next few years you will see the kids leave town and go to travel and good luck finding a spot unless you are a superstar. Hard to shine when there are over 100 kids at tryouts and they've never seen you before. Enjoy town travel.

Until Blast can beat that little town team they will remain #2. Plus, Blast didn't bring in enough talent to be considered a real improved team. My guess is the Geese take a step up.

Geese, Blast and Express all played each other multiple times this past year - all competitive, good games. Man 32 one tournament. It's sad really. They spent all that money to buy an expensive house in an expensive neighborhood but couldn't spend the few extra dollars to buy some class to go with it.

How can any of these people say they are playing for the "best organization" on long island? We played the same tournaments as other teams mentioned here, but in different divisions, brackets, etc? Are you that hard up for reliving the glory days that you're bragging anonymously here?
Different question: how rampant it's cheating in travel lacrosse? I've seen the different teams we played against (we won two off the three so I'm not whining sour grapes) where teams we played earlier in the day has a different cast of characters the second time that day.
Are there any organizations well known for antics like this?

Let's move on, shall we ladies? I noticed that Blast and Ice have 25 and 28 players on their rosters. Is this the new thing that we should expect from all of the clubs as their rosters come out? 25 seems very heavy. 28 is an obnoxiously blatant attempt to steal money. With those numbers one would assume 6 attackmen (5 will play quality minutes), 6 defenseman (5 will play quality minutes), 2 goalies and 11 midfielders (5 will play quality minutes) for a 25 player roster. 7,7,2 and 12 for 28. That's just too many players riding the bench. These clubs, not just Orange, all of them, are seriously taking advantage of us as parents and consumers.

Going to be a fun year. These comments on 9 year old lax are so stupid and bizarre. Last year bandits and Wolfpack were losing games. Should they be ashamed of the Ls or proud because they worked hard and played great lax every tourney? What 2025 team will have the best record?! Nutty. Lizards suck because they lost to the outlaws in the semis. Worst team with no talent.

Someone a few posts back actually wrote accept your situation. As summer comes to an end, someone out there is actually commenting on a 9 year old boys lacrosse tournament played 3 months ago. Are you for real man. The situation you said, what situation are you talking about. Is it a situation where a team won approximately 28 out of 30 games this spring/summer, boys who made new friends, boys who got better playing a sport they love, boys who had a great time traveling together to tournaments, and most important enjoyed being a 9 year old kids. What a terrible situation.

Young 9 year old boys , prob the Fat parents sitting on the sideline screaming there freaking brain out, that can't run 50 yards down the field themselves. You are the one making this game stressful for kids. Just shut your mouth take pictures and enjoy it now. Sound about right? Blast and Geese both upgraded... Every good team upgraded. That's how it works. Manhassett beat blast 2x, right? Different year different teams except for the Towns who are limited in where they can get kids that will really help them get better. Don't expect 32 to pull that off again.

Weird thing is Blast was in 2025 A division this afternoon. Now they're in 2024 A but haven't been assigned any games. Clearly, the schedule is still in flux. I wouldn't breath too easy just yet my feathered friends. Our 9 year olds may yet meet in the glorious field of battle. Um, er, I mean youth sports.

Oreilly is the mechanic does all of the work. Channy is the driver that gets the credit for the wins. I would rather have my kid learning and losing from Oreilly then being the one of the extras on the A team that we're not getting playing time already in a pre season tournament Looked like all the kids on Channy's team got plenty of play. Not sure why everyone keeps saying that kids will be sidelined. As for Oreilly, he is a great coach and it will be great to see what he makes of his current team. Another A Team? Doubt it. Below the mean. Channy's team lost to the Geese by a goal. They are a definite A team Both games played by the geese were very sloppy. It seemed like the geese were toying with express. Channy with have another chance Saturday, they play again. So M32 not making a difference.

You can see they have some top talent and I assume they will gel more and more over time. Geese are not the only ones who played sloppy so I can't see that as a valid excuse. With a 5-4 last second win there's no way Geese were "toying" with Express. That was a fun game to witness, signals good competition ahead.

That was the first game. Geese goalie stepped it up at the end or the Geese would have lost. Championship Game went back and forth, yes many teams played sloppy. I guess that what we get for fall ball.

A lot have been together since 2nd grade. The team will win but certain aspects of the game don't really get taught. Double teaming, clears, rides, wing play, an offensive scheme other then "GO" and get through.

Express does not have enough fire power to only play 13 players. Those kids will need to develop a lot more. Maybe channy should bring the M32 coach and their star player back from Maryland?

Express A, Geese & Blast should all play each other this weekend. It would be great practice for all of them. Silt for Blast to play up when you have 2 good competitive teams to play against. Bi can see playing up when there isn't good competition but those 3 should play each other.

Express A, Geese & Blast should all play each other this weekend. It would be great practice for all of them. Silt for Blast to play up when you have 2 good competitive teams to play against. Bi can see playing up when there isn't good competition but those 3 should play each other. Blast will hide this fall and spring just like Wolfpack did last year thinking they're better than everyone else just because they beat them the year before. How many times did WP beat Taz last year? Zero. Lost to them 4 times. if they lose to an older team, that's acceptable to them. They have an excuse. They have no excuses for losing to our kids.

The bracket has room for another team. Teams should play on grade level. Getting beat playing up is a cop out. It's ok to lose on grade level; well, I guess not if you play for Big Orange.

The only reason Blast is playing up is because the older teams are and they want to do what the cool kids are doing. Unfortunately for Blast, they are not nearly as good as the older teams.

Scrambled eggs is very good combo team btw. I remember a year ago and at that time Geese were better than blast based by adults previous year. Blast played up fall and everyone questioned it here til spring and Summer came and the reason was obvious they got better by doing so. Every 91 A team plays up in fall it's program philosophy and it seems to work. Makes sense on many different levels Stop all this craziness as well its fall ball. Kids are doing a million different things Enjoy the time with your kid frustrated dad
