I wasnt. Not able to make this tournament, but did see Summer Classic. I would rank some of the M&D, Hero's and YJ girls higher than anyone I saw from TLC that weekend.

YJ 2018 champions
YJ 2019 Champions
YJ 2020 Finalist

Younger Teams had a team advance to playoffs in 2021 and 2022 Division.
YJ organization as a whole did very well. Plus there A teams are in the TOP bracket in all age groups. They are still Elite for the Long Island area!! No comparison to any other LI team.

They would be better if they had some bigger, more aggressive and athletic girls like the MD teams do. Also get the coaches kids, and other favors over to the B team where they belong (killing the teams), and some of the better B players up to A. YJ A teams just cannot compete with what they have now!

All 2019 teams did very well except for the 4th team. I think they only won 1 game.

Yellow Jackets is so amazing. Thats why they send a older goalie to help win a 3rd grade charity tournament. YJ parents should be proud for stealing a win from 8 year olds.

Not much of a choice, none of the other players are strong enough to hold a goalie stick.

That bigger aggressive stuff is silly. The younger UK teams compete at 8-9 or 9-10 or 10-11 vs Maryland teams always 1-2 years older if not more. Seeing 5'7 girls a few and several 5'4-5'6 vs 4'11-5'1 in same bracket shouldn't let you rip on YJ. Have same teams play at U13 and I bet the 2023 would be in U15 and 2024 be in U13. Age growth huge difference at this age for girls. Happens every year and then at U15 's Maryland teams boycott. Weird, age thing or don't want to play same age? Stop the flaming enjoy your early age advantages. But remember skills win out when size equals. Check U15' s for many years back.

Really! Which one? I was watching the games, MD Black, TLC and Hero's. TLC does not have the most gifted player in that age group.

Tall midfielder, runs like the wind, can score and plays real good defense..maybe she had a special game, Idk.? But on the field with 24 pretty solid players ( both YJ and TLC) she stood out.

Didnt see her at Laxfest. YJ loses, new goalie shows up bigger than almost all the other girls. Making almost every save. But shes in the 3rd grade rite? Maybe Maryland 3rd grade.

If she had an orange Helmet, then she is a 2025.

so clearly you're a parent of a girl who plays for either Blaze or Blue Devils and you're upset that your daughter's team got beat on Sunday. Seriously...? They're 8/9 years old -- including the goalie -- give it a rest.

I wear a blue speedo. Does that make me 50? My friends say yes, but I don't have a lot of those.

That was pretty much decided when the schedule came out - not much competition.

As they should. None of the Maryland teams that beat up on them all summer were there.

I heard the 5th grade YJ needed some of their 6th graders to beat igloo in the finals by 1 goal.

Can you back that up!
Be careful....
I like to see programs that are good in every grade NOT just a flash in the pan.
loose one or two players and there goes your program!

Doesn't surprise me, that team not very good, relies too heavily on favors, family and friends. If they want to be competitive moving forward, time to make some changes!

Nothing like having the nationally ranked 7th grade YJ team blowing out a combination grade team.

You must be so proud.

Would assume they are referring to the YJ Skak vs Exspress combo team? Probably wasn't much fun fun for either but done for YJ parent egos. This YJ team took a beating this summer in MD. Skak parents will tell you they were close scoring games but having watched the Skywalkers game at LFC they were flat out man handled. The YJ girls came of the field looking shell shocked bruised and battered.

^^ my take away from yesterday's tournament was all positive, win or lose Several Long Island clubs put aside all the BS and played a local tournament. We're there some blow outs? yes, we're there a few surprises? Yup. I'd like to think that with the addition of TG & Lib..erty, and a few others this could be a good forum for LI lax.
We still need to travel to NJ and Md but I give credit to the organizers for getting this done on LI.

I watched the game as well , wasn't it won on a late goal. If the score was tied late in the game I really don't know how you can refer to it as man handled unless
you have an ulterior motive. YJ girls were knocked down repeatedly on clears but the other team was carded for these offenses. YJ did not score when man up so you can't knock the strategy. Skywalkers played a tough game and won hats off to them.

You are so right this was so much fun for our girls playing against an over matched team. Perhaps you should check with your director as to why you were placed in this bracket.Playing keep away and not going to goal is so much more fun then having a competitive game. It is interesting how some of your more knowledgable parents commented Thanks for slowing it down and were very appreciative.
