May I ask what team your son was on? Red, white or Blue?

My son went to this last year and here is my take on the event - do with it what you will. At this age it is a bit of a money grab but it cant hurt your son to go; it can only help. He is not going to get scratched off some master recruiting list if he doesn't get picked for JR. If you have the money, go. If you cant really afford to take this trip than my advice is not to sweat missing it. In the interest of full disclosure, my son did not get picked for JR, but he has been selected for other events and is already being recruited (very early stages) for d1. He was an undersized defenseman when he went down there (still is, a bit), and this event wants the poles to be big and super-athletic and not necessarily skilled if they are going to send them to JR at this age. Not a single pole on my son's team got selected for JR, yet he and several others on his team D are all going on recruiting visits for D1 programs this fall, so don't think you are hurting your son's chances if you feel he hasn't hit his spurt yet and want to hold off. Lots of 15 year olds will be down there - trust me. So here are some things to consider from someone who was there: 1) the overwhelming majority of kids who get selected to JR are nominated by their HS coaches. This event only sends a smaller percentage
2)there will be some great players there, and some kids who were done a disservice by being registered by daddy. 3) it is extremely well organized and well run but the drills are very offensively focused and quite frankly, oversold on the info page. They didn't do half of what they said. 4) if you play for 3D, you have a great shot at making JR (that is the only cynical thing I will say) 5) there are several team venues for recruiting coming up in your son's future including adrenaline cup, nxt invitational, as well as individual showcases such as freshman showcase (next year for your boy) and some great ;local ones to introduce him to the showcase format, so don't sweat it and try not to get caught up in the rat race. 6) it will be a typical showcase-type event - no passing and silly shots (tough on attackmen). 7) if you really want to go, and are driven to have your boy get selected to JR, then hedge your bet and go with a weaker region- a lot of kids did this. It isn't cheating per se, but you really do want your kid to be measured against the more skilled players. that will serve him better in the long run
In conclusion, if you have the throw-away money, go. it cant hurt. but neither will abstaining until he develops a bit. Good luck and I hope this helps

Doesn't say much for the organization that they are developing kids and are an A team. The kid that left went to 91 because he was looking to go ivy league or to a top D1 school. He has geeat academic skills as well as lax skills. Great athlete and hard worker. Don't let them make you think they developed him. His parents wanted to get him to go to top recruiting tournaments. Trust me not many kids going to D1 schools with the complete package. He's one.

You obviously know nothing about lacrosse and most likely have gotten involved for the first time because your kid plays.

Some of the best D1 players of all time were late bloomers who didn't get "great" until Junior or senior year. These players became Hall of Famers. They certainly were not "where they need to be" at 14!

The travesty in today's crazy lacrosse mindset is that everyone thinks they know what a kid is going to be when he enters college when he is 13 or 14. That is completely insane and anyone who knows lacrosse knows this to be ridiculous.

Give Kevin Finneran a call and ask him what his talent level was when he was a junior at Holy Trinity. He wasn't a starter! He became one of the greatest player in lacrosse history!! Google him if you care to.

So relax with the speculation and opinions on who you feel is the best 4th grader or the best 8th grader because the kid you deem the worst may someday squash your little all star.

We went last year and it was a great experience plus you can see where you kids stands with the best kids side by side. They onlt take about 1/2 the kids from Bluechip camp in Florida to Jake Reeds camp, the other 1/2 are direct invite thru coached recommendations.

This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever read on this website. If you have a son who is 14 and you're not telling them they've still got a long road ahead, you're doing them a complete disservice as a parent.

B, A, AA, AAA - it doesn't matter. If your son has aspirations on playing at the highest level, guess what. DEVELOPMENT WILL NEVER STOP. The GRIND continues until the day they walk of campus. That's the mindset your kid will need to succeed in today's lacrosse environment.

If my 13 or 14 year old kid said "hey dad, my coach said I'm good to go and developed as a lacrosse player, I've got nothing left to learn since I start on our super fabulous AA team!" I would literally laugh out loud. Then I'd find a new team to play for.

Not sure about "everyone" but my son went last year, did not make JR and was invited back again to 3D.

I'm sure you don't even have a kid playing lacrosse anymore, go back under your rock....

Quite honestly, this might be the dumbest post I have ever read on here. And that is saying something...

Ask any of the top coaches and they will tell you that this showcase has dropped off over the last few years. If you are able to get into Showtime, it is much better run and attended by the top programs.

If you think college lacrosse players are not developing every day you are wrong. They work incredibly hard and develop and refine their skill set. High school players do as well. To say a pubescent 14 year old is fully developed as an athlete is an uneducated and frankly moronic statement. It shows your lack of knowledge regarding the sport and your misguided skill set as a parent of an athlete.

Athletes of all levels, be it 14 year olds, 18 year olds, 21 year olds, or professional athletes are always improving and growing as players if they are committed to their sport and respect the knowledge that they can always improve and always get better. It is those athletes who do not think they need to or they can improve who do not.

So do your child a favor and tell him in all areas of his life, he should work hard and strive to get to the next level, both on and off the field, and you'll have a superstar on your hands, and I don't mean just as an athlete, I mean the whole package.

Did bluefish take any Players from the top 2019 teams at express or 91 or revo?

I suspect a bunch of TRue Blue and Igloo kids are a big component of the Buefish.
