Team LI has a few 6th grade teams. Which one are you referring to?

91 orange 7th grade just went down to Maryland and beat the crabs and annapolis hawks. They also handled true blue, and beat express. The only team left for them to beat is turtles. Trust me, these kids are legit!

Why is 91 orange 2017 entered in the b division of the Irish Skirmish tourny in Pa? If they just beat those teams why drop down in a small tourny?

They have 2 levels listed for 7/8 grade teams. They are in the highest level listed.. The lower grades have 3 levels listed.

Rational is its an 7th\8th grade bracket as a 7th grade team you play the lower tier

If you consider your team a elite Team at any age, you should always play up, what good is to smack teams around. Play up and see how you do. Do not think competition will be that good any way

Check the website for the tournament. In 7/8, there is most competitive, competitive, and least competitive. We went last year. The lowest division at that age is for average town teams, the middle division is for decent travel/good town. The top division for the most part those teams would play in the b division of most tournaments. The vipers which is a mixed 7/8th grade team are playing in the top division. Be honest, I have seen 91 2017 orange play and I don't think they will have anything close to a competitive if they stay in that division.

anyone have any feedback on the Team 91 experience for girls? Hard to get a fell as to how competitive teams will be - some grades have two teams and some only have 1 (and not a big squad).

This is what is wrong with playing up...if a team beats everyone in their own age group they are not considered a strong team, instead they are criticized for not playing against older kids. What's next? If you win a state title that's not going to be good enough, you should have played college team in the final? It should be that if you beat everyone in your own age group, you should be considered the best in that age group. Isn't that why there are age groups to begin with? Where does playing up stop? 1 year then 2 years? Maybe I'm wrong and you will never be considered a great U13 team infill you win the NCAA tourney?

With all due respect at some point the coaches should know if you continue to beat the same teams in your age group over and over they should consider playing up one grade level. If the games in your age are not competitive the kids will benifit from being challenged. U-13 should not be about winning as much as challenging the boys to get better.
