It should happen. Competitive balance. Then winners could move up and last place down every year. Nobody wants to play at a school that never wins. Being in the A and going winless isn’t fun. Sounds like a couple A teams are in danger of not having enough for 1 team. They need to move the bottom 4 down. 10 teams is perfect. Schedule a couple B teams, and two more MD publics or teams from other states/conferences. Then a team like St John’s Catholic doesn’t have to beat Park 19-2 twice a season.

Garden City: 7 - BBP: 6
Great game, order has been restored! Both teams weren’t that great. Will be surprised if either wins counties. LOL…tough crowd. You must be new to the game. Let me explain. - Both defenses and goalies were stellar. - As a result, each possession was methodical and valued with care - The game was chess not checkers - Earlier this week, USA lacrosse ranked BBP #1 in the country and GC #14. - Both teams will win counties and State finalists, at a minimum. - Long Island is still THE hotbed. Have a wonderful weekend. Xoxo #1 is a stretch! GC and St. Ants talent is better than BBP! I would argue that BBP coaching staff IS better and has been consistent for years. They make the difference and are MVP. The talent at St. Ants and GC is Better. SA just has not had consistent coaching to bring that talent to its peak performance for a few years now. New coach this year. Needs a little time. With consistent good coaching, no doubt St. Ants would be #1 nationally. They beat top teams at HS Nationals to win it.

Greeley 15-7 over Carmel
Kind of surprised it was so lopsided, Carmel has at least three commits which are two high D3 and one middle pack D1.
But man the Greeley schedules looks tough, Cold Spring Harbor, Greenwich, Mamo, Somers, and Bronxville will all be tests. And if they play like they did today - they’re all gonna be fat Ls. I didn’t see anything that shows that they are any better than last year. This is the same team with a tougher schedule they’d better improve quick if they want to hang with those teams. The game was never in question..... Gave up to late goals to make it 7 for Carmel. All you heard was how gritty and tough Carmel is. Well, says something about Greeley then. Could be the best offense is section 1. Played all their guys too. Did we see the same game? They did not play all their guys - this has been one of the biggest issues within the team. "Could be the best offense in Section 1" is one of the most laughable things anyone has posted here in awhile. They do have some talent and they've shown they can put up goals against mediocre teams. That much hasn't changed - all due respect to Carmel. They did beef up their schedule so we'll see how this offense does against those better teams. But to say it's the best in Section 1? That's not a serious take. One things for sure, a lot of people are talking about them.

Dalers are a joke. Look like an Igloo B team I can't believe how bad F'dale is. They returned some very good players from a very good team last year. Strange.

Carmel is overrated. They are an ok team and that is it. Above average Section 1 team. Everyone who rates them does so solely on the "everyone is coming back theory". Kids don't turn into Paul Rabil just because 12 months have passed. They will have a nice successful season, and because class A lacks depth, and North Rockland is down, they may be the third best team in A. But not on the same level as the top shelf teams. Greeley is probably at that level now, albeit at the bottom of it - unless proven otherwise.

Can all of you take a deep breath and calm down?! No names were mentioned; if everyone knows the player being discussed, that would confirm this intel is public. Regardless, “legal action” is a preposterous suggestion; stop your pearl-clutching. McD lost because Episcopal is better…it’s really that simple. No names were mentioned, but it was specified it was their starting goalie. There's only one person who fits that description, so if people know who you're talking about, that's why. As I'm sure PP was well aware would be the case.

Does anyone know if the bottom 2 IAAM teams move down to the B bracket next year? Only if the league and/or the school decide it is needed. It took Gerstell going winless for two years before the league made them move down. It’s rare that they will move a team down but this was overdue. It seems they are more inclined to move a team up if they dominate the B division for a few years … see GCS and Mercy. But there is a huge difference between dominating B and being remotely competitive in A. SJCP was undefeated in B last year and gets smoked by the bottom A teams.

91 didn’t cheat. The tournament organizers provided permission for 91 to use a player that has been with its club for several years and aside from his talent is a great young man and teammate. It can be argued that if they were given an exemption to a specific eligibility rule, then other teams should have also received the same benefit or courtesy. Another argument can be made that several teams may not required an exemption and may have faced a tougher opponent and but for the exemption may have beaten 91. Great take but this has everything to do with his talent. If he was a great young man and teammate but a terrible player, exemptions would not be sought.

I think this is just the exact problem with club lacrosse in general. Its the wild west as it relates to rules in general and rules enforcement and consistency and often makes these events and youth lacrosse in general look silly compared to other sports that do a much better job overall. That's a comment not specific to this age group or this tournament, but an overall one. Anyone with boys that have already been through the process end to end would probably acknowledge this reality.
The one comment that bothers me is about the individual. Its nice for the kid to be able to play with his long time teammates and congrats to him for being a good player and person, but that should have no bearing on the decision and application of this long standing and very well known 100 mile rule for this event. These types of decisions regardless of justification just diminish credibility and that happens so often that we get to the point that rules appear meaningless sadly. well, rant over.
Good luck to all this summer and I hope everyone's kids have fun and get better. That's more important than the adult led rule breaking non-sense anyway.

Ok Rebels parents and coaches, you qualified, you did not win the WS. Relax with the social media posts. It is about the kids, don't make it about you guys. Stop posting, you didn't even win the qualifier. Pathetic!!!!

St Mary’s is falling apart. Unhappy parents. Kids wanting to transfer to Spalding now. Only matter of time before they join MSJ as a bottom feeder. Their lack of recruiting will 100% catch up to them this year and in the coming years. They took a good portion of the 27 Hawks and yes they made Varsity over kids who are juniors and seniors. The Legacy families rule Duke Of Gloucester St

Absolute battle defensively…and physically. Lasalle controlled the game, missed some good opportunities but kept St Mary’s offense in check pretty much the whole game. Hats off to St Mary’s as well - it was 2-1 in the 4th Hats off - for what? They scored all of 2 goals. I get that the x attack was dominant in HoCo youth lacrosse, but you're telling me St. Mary's can't find a more mature and better player at that spot with all of the Hawks and other travel players who go there? There's gotta be a back story on that one. kids mom is a dermatologist with a back room to make the end of everyone's visit happy. the coaches have been in their after work almost daily.

The person (mom, dad?) posting personal stuff about a child needs to be banned from this site. No excuse for it. And opens those people and BOTC up to big lawsuits for defamation and probably a lot of other actions involving children and privacy.

Suffolk needs to have a power conference Great first win St. Anthony’s Wantagh lost one of its best players with an injury, early in the game. Had she stayed in, probably would have been a different game? It was just an Ok win for Ants and they just looked ok It all went downhill from that point for wantagh. Looks and sounds (lack thereof in sounds) from the wantagh coach hasnt the slightest clue and in over her head. If you thought st ants coach was unqualified and terrible then look no further towards that other sideline. Space cadet city.
