How would team 91 or Predators do if AAA this year? Would they dominate or just be in the mix?

Elite

Legends v. Team 91. Legends
As expected Legends won. Legends has a tough group of kids that grind through many situations. The biggest set back that I noticed from game to game was the inconsistency in game play and tempo. As seen in the game with 91. A few times 91 came down and scored back to back goals with limited adjustment with the defense. Legends eventually shut that down to put the game in their hands for a win. 91 won more face offs than expected leading to goals. Hopefully the caching picks up on this and uses it to their advantage. 91’s defense struggled with legends movement of ball and the strength they bring with size and scoring ability. It’s apparent that 91 uses their stronger players to push through situations through out the game with limited support from other players. Maybe 91 needs to develop and incorporate more of there support players in the rotation to build confidence in their play. There were “glimpses” of good lacrosse which were out weighed by the speed and strength of elite level lacrosse. Legends gets better from week to week, with them being able to finish off games. Legends needs to focus on limiting the small mistakes that lead to larger turnover outcomes. This is something that will be corrected and is apparent with of field coaching.

Madlax v. Hawks
Didn’t see this game but would love to watch a video of it. Two of the best teams around. As expected a one goal game. Could have gone either way

FCA v. Next Level, Next Level.
So another loss for FCA. I was hoping for FCA to win this one. I wanted to see how the team dealt with adversity. In the first half it was back and forth with FCA setting the tone and tempo of the game. FCA looked as though they were getting back to the level of previous seasons. Fast ball movement, consistent outcomes off face-offs, and limited mistakes kept them in the game. This also included getting all players on the field involved. FCA limited their shot clock issues and in return got a good first half. Next Level came to play, however seemed a step behind FCA always playing a slight game of catch up. Next Level struggled in the mid-field with FCA winning the ball. So the second half was a different story. Next Level adjusted the game play to suit their style - deliberate, simple, and focused. These adjustments seemed to throw FCA off, causing the defense to lose sight of players cutting, setting picks, and off ball movement. There were many times when the defense was looking around as to where they should be and who they should cover causing their teammates to try to compensate for the lack of slides. Defensively FCA lost many ground balls on their side of the field. Offensively FCA, relied on their key players to make things happen. Relying on these players so heavily in the second half limited the production and success that they brought in the first half. Frustration in players was apparent on the field from week to week possible cause for low moral. NL used their strengths to their success while using FCA’s lack of discipline at times to their advantage. NL is a good team, but not quite a great team yet. This match up should have gone in another direction with an FCA win. They have the talent to succeed. One win since the fall is very uncharacteristic. I know it sounds repetitive, but how will FCA respond when the chips are down, both in player resilience and coaching adjustments. Next Level will play a solid game next week and should be able to handle 91 with relative ease.

True Chesapeake v. Predators -
The score was much closer than I would expected. Does true play down to the level of the team they are playing. I have not been overly impressed with the team. While they are very good there is still a lack of complete dominance. The goal production is low with an average of 8 goals per game especially against weaker teams.

Next Weeks Predictions
Predators v FCA - FCA +5 Spoiler Game
TC v Hawks - Hawks +3
Madlax v Legends - Madlax +1
Team 91 v Next Level - Next Level +10

AAA

This week had a lot of close games with low numbers in goals. How would team 91 or Predators do if AAA?

Pro Start v. NOVA - NOVA is putting up goals through out the season while this game was close the goal production is consistent from week to week. Are NOVA the team to beat. Is Prostart able to pig up steam and begin producing.

Bethesda Blue v. Carroll Manor - Game played out as I thought. Carroll Manor was able to limit the goals to win another game. CM will have to increase goal production to continue to win .
Shore Kaos v. HoCo - Hoco - Not Played Yet

Annapolis Hawks v. Team Maryland - Well This was a close one with TM possibly squeeking this one out. Team Maryland has the goal production to have won this game.

Next Weeks Predictions
Hawks v. HoCo - Hawks +3
Shore Kaos v. Carroll Manor - Carroll Manor +3
Prostart v. Team MD - Team MD +2 Spoiler Game
True NOVA - Bethesda Blue - NOVA +3

Archbishop Curley should be in the A conference. It is embarrassing to the league that a team like Curley is in the B. Curley would beat or put up a good fight against any team not named Calvert Hall.

Bring it on baby!!

Hawks and Crabs are the only sure thing at this point. Couple pivotal games this weekend: DCE Vs FCA and Madlax Vs Next Level. Those outcomes will determine last 2 spots.

While we’re on the subject here are this week’s early predictions based on what we’ve seen through 3:

DCE 8, FCA 6
NL 5, Madlax 4 in OT
Hawks 11, Team 91 3
Crabs 13, Money 7

Has DCE righted the ship with an easy win over 91? Hard to say. FCA winning, but not decisively. They’re at risk against DCE.

NL is hearing the air come out of their balloon after the week 1 win. Blown out by Crabs, and couldn’t handle FCA in a swing game. Madlax showing signs of life with good FOGO, but an 0-2 start with Hawks on the horizon next week, this game is a must or they’re headed for 0-4 start and the flyins might cancel their travel plans last couple weeks.

Hawks will roll. But 91 has two very good goalies that can keep them in games. Maybe tighter outcome than some expect.

Crabs will win, but Money will keep it close till late. Crabs have some offensive firepower, particularly the left attackman, but average at some key positions. Someone could sneak up on them. Is it Money? Probably not, but they could lose a couple games before playoffs.

Very detailed analysis… It’s 8th grade lacrosse, not the World Series.
It sounds like you sit around and watch every game which is odd, otherwise you’re just talking out of your a… pick one.

Some (most?) of the kids have already turned our focus to HS.

yeah I really dislike it when people come on to youth lacrosse boards and, um, talk about youth lacrosse

Hahaha GC got demolished by SPSG at the beginning of the season

No one cares about preseason games where teams empty the bench. But if you do, McD to Stone Ridge. GC just beat Stone Ridge. You can bring up last year all you want if it makes you feel better when you talk about this year, as though it makes a difference since there are new players. GC goalie play killed them last year and new goalie is much better.

In real play where people are actually trying to win:
SPSG lost to Stone Ridge. GC beat Stone Ridge.
Spalding lost to STAB. GC beat STAB by 12.

Or maybe JC and MSJ just have better teams this season.

I'm the opposite of whatever you call a Spalding fan, but it's been clear since at least the recruitment of the 2027s 18 months ago that the hierarchy for "great" and "good" AA county athletes is Spalding>STM>Severn. This is true for the 2028s as well, as the best Hawks kids are headed to Spalding and BL, the decent Hawks and Clippers kids are headed to DC privates and St. Marys (some of whom are leaving Severn, new DC players are leaving St Marys also), and Severn is picking up public school kids (Broadneck and Sev Park) and a few Catholic school kids pretty strictly from AA County.

Spalding has replaced STM as top dog in AACO and it’s not even close. In 2 short years the new administration at St Mary’s has destroyed the sports program at the school. Until the school can stop with all the alumni hirings things will never change. Sad times and even sadder times when the faculty at STM send their kids to Spalding not STM is all you need to know about the school.

You'd be surprised. For a lot of parents, it's all they have. But yes, in 9th grade the club chatter dissipates. But then you have to listen to the private school parents talk about which high school team is the best. It is comical

Because the poster made it seem like playing 19 kids was unusual.

Was just asking to see if other teams were playing more kids than that or if it was typical.

Sorry your blood pressure is so easily elevated. You must have a terribly stressful and miserable existence.

TG is not practicing to let the girls focus on school and PAL lacrosse.

The reason the league works so well in Maryland is that they do not have a PAL type of league. The Maryland teams have a winter league and then the NGLL spring league. They are at an advantage when the summer tournaments start as they have been playing together for so much longer.

Pretty silly not to enter if the reason is that it’s run by a competing company. YJ goes to summer genesis and lax for the cure, and Maryland cup and those are run by a competing company. Anyway, not our problems, other teams will just catch up.

YJ still sittting at 6 games at this age group. As a comparison:

M&D- 15 games
Primetime- 12 games
Jesters Black -18 EIGHTEEN! This organization will pass YJ

Jesters black barely beat legacy at ngll last week and then lost by 4 to igoo…. Who are they passing?

This is not different from high level public school ball...public schools just have smaller rosters.

Lower level public school lacrosse (and private schools outside of the DC to Boston corridor), you do see a lot of substitutions, primarily because the players are not well conditioned, walk into dangerous double teams (in-game injury - hand sprains/breaks), have poor technique at specialist positions (G, FOGO - lots of back, hand, thumb injuries in-game), and are prone to throwing hospital passes (in-game head/neck injury).

That’s the most ridiculous analysis of HS injuries I’ve heard on botc. Please tell me you did a study….

That’s always the comeback. You are just mad your kid got cut. I actually didn’t even have my daughter try out. Why? Because I spent almost 800 bucks on a similar type event for my son in 7th grade. He was even selected to the “all star game “ After going through the recruiting process with him I now realize it was a waste of money. All his college coach cared about was his current film (10th and 11th) and most importantly his grades. If my son would have sent him video of his 7th grade performance his college coach probably would have laughed.

Like I said before I have no issue with people who decide to do these events. My issue was with the original poster who said it was putting her kids in front of the right people in 7th grade and “building her resume” She also said it was having an impact on her high school coaches decisions to play her kid. Both are absurd statements.

No desire to go back and read this thread but didn’t this guy say his kid made red not black and he declined?

Negative. That was a top guns parent who declined the red invitation.

Take care of your own team M&D mommy. . Every Coppermine kid played multiple minutes in both halves except 1 with an injury she tried a little in the second half. You 8th grade lax parents are more interested in winning t shirts and other teams than your own daughter getting better. I don’t think either team had any issues during the game but you have to justify why your daughter’s team lost saying they don’t sub. You are just silly.
