Coming from a Rebels parent just leave us be, all the top athletes already know each other and so do the parents. Stop stirring the pot and leave it on the field. What fall tournaments are we looking at here?

Ex East is heading up the B bracket in their first tournament: looking for a soft championship while pretending they got more competitive against Stealth and Igloo. If S2S improved they could mix the top 3 coming from the 4th relative position.

Eric Spallina left and went to East Coast Elite with his son. So now parent coaches are killing it—literally!

Hearing Chucks really upgraded. 6-9 Starters from Igloo and Rebels. Might be New # 1. Express reputation hauls them in. 91 I heard Folded that, cannot be true?

Partially true but not starters. 3 Stealth and a few Winter Soldiers, some were already there from mid-season. They will be interesting to watch. Can they put it together since all are positionally middies.

legacy best player is a Rebel now. S2S and 91 Hide is fall. If they play top dogs, they will lose players. Very week plan, but whatever.

Spallina’s will make a comeback, both have kids in respective programs.91 Titans took 4 kids from tryouts. I was there and seen them play. Perhaps I would have kept 4 -5 kids from Titans.

Teams are Definitely ducking out of tough tournaments…EE B team is playing. I wonder how good Chicks will be this weekend. Last yr I thought they had 2-3 functional kids. So they needed a lot of help, looks like they may be able to run with stealth. If so, that’s big!

Express did not play very well, thought Rebels played down, and got beat. Express has done well. 2 years ago not sure if they won a game. Last year they Improved. Now they are Top Dog

Let’s not point out individual children. Both teams played well. No bad blood there! Any kid who takes the field in a braveheart is a student. Express clearly made some great changes over the summer. Looking forward to a rematch.

The chicks goalie was a complete student and made a kick save as he stepped to the ball….not to mention he was apart of both braveheart s that day. Stealth couldn’t touch the teamwork of Express. Express was we coached and ready for a dog fight. Stealth was humbled. TG there is competition for two teams. Chucks improvement is honestly off the charts, they were bad last year. As in BAD!

91 daddy coaches took 4 kids on titans, and lost 2 Spallina’s (coach and kid). They will be irrelevant until…. They look in the mirror—it’s should not be a social club.

Interested to see how Ward Melville Express plays.

Legacy Blue lost to 91’s second team today.

First game loss for Rebels to Mojo. First half looked like a blowout but Rebels made it a game in the second. 10-9.

They bounced back and won the rest - Also congrats to Chucks on their chip very dominant. Might have to add them to the top three now? Looks like those add ons made a difference.

Easy - basically having a kid who plays and knows most of the top kids and families. It's a small community. Also coaching/ organizational philosophies don't really change unless there is a NEW coach which doesn't happen too often. Just makes it fun, no ones really betting or are they? lol

Although your assessment may be valid VS Armada, the strength of schedule is not in their favor. Game 1 VS Winter Soldiers, Game 2 VS Titans, Game 3 Stealth. Also 11k is because 2031s is the deepest and most talented in a while.

Deepest? Most Talented? There isn’t a 31 team who can even compete with a 2030 team. Where as 2030 teams can beat most 2029 because that age group is very weak. Rebels rely heavily on 2-3 players to carry 98% of the workload, so deep is an aggressive term.

The statement is relative to the Age group my friend. Both are not mutually exclusive as we are not in High School. The Assessment is based off the overall totality of Long Island Lax Not Rebels or one particular group. If we made a LI team of the top 2031's I don't think another age group would compare for at least two grad years. All based on the eye test.

TRiSTAR Top 3 Teams Igloo 2way and Rebels. Chucks Plays none of them. Thats weak.

Newbie here…defense parents…just curious how many of you picked travel with the intent that your son was going to be on D versus just joining travel and they were “picked” to play defense?

In my experience over the past few years, noticed in the younger grades when kids start playing coaches tend to put the kids at defense who are not the most athletic, bigger, and usually do not have the best stick skills. The more athletic kids that can run are positioned into Midfield and the kids with the best stick skills and that can shoot (or are the coach's kids) play attack.

With that being said, everything changes each year, as they develop and grow. But don’t sleep in a defensive position. That’s the most important part of the game. Defense wins championships.

And since you mentioned that you are a newbie. Please ignore 99% of the posts. Most of them are parents stirring up the pot, instead of enjoying an area of the country that has so much youth talent and can’t sit back and appreciate it. This forum is one big pissing contest.

Totally agree with this and the evolution of the defensive player. Having had two kid play defense they both started lax late and were “thrown” into defense because of stick skills. In the end both should have been middies based on their size and speed as their stick skills caught up to them.

Time will tell. Right now they are up there w Rebels and Igloo. Rebels got them good a few weeks ago and they came back and beat them in OT. I still think 91 can play with all of them and will be the top team at this age group soon.

I love how coaches and club owners put the blame on parents when they move their kids to other teams. When parents pay a lot of money for player development instead the clubs focus on a few players just for wins to promote their club. Maybe if coaches and club owners can put their egos in check and realize maybe it’s on them and would have more play retention, build a strong team with depth

Agree, and as long as there is money involved, clubs will continue down the win at all costs path. It’s not about the kids, it’s about their pockets. Only thing you can do, is find the right fit for your child, development and PT. If they are happy, having fun, and want to go back for more, you are winning.

S2S had a good day going 3-0 in bracket play. Had a good first half with Igloo in the Chip game but fell apart in the second half of the game. There is a lot of talent on the team and excited to see how they develop and the chemistry grows over the Winter heading into Spring ball - Really great coaching too.

Hats off to Igloo turning it up in the second half in the Chip game.

Nice to see Eskimos and S2S go 3-0. They will be battling for 2nd best team on island.

4 '31 teams competed. Lower level competition though I believe.

Is it better to be on a winning lower level team or a losing yet competing upper level team? I know you’ll take coaching, fit, and fun into consideration but if you’re not winning games or tourneys, what toll does that take on a 10 year old? Do you switch to a lower level team just to win?

I think there's a balance. A team constantly getting shutout every game is probably counter productive to growth. All things equal i'd take a losing(but competing) team in a more competitive bracket as long as my kid is getting playing time. Winning is one if the last things I care about as a parent personally.

Our experience last year with our 10YR from being on a lower-level team that was consistently losing was that although he was getting a lot of field time, we saw a regression in the game. The level of competition at practice coupled with the inability to compete made kids complacent. Moving him to a more competitive A with better players and coaching around him and having him compete for field time has already shown in improvement in his game. Agreed at this age winning is not important, but in their mind it is, and they need to know how to motivate them selves to play hard and work harder.

FWIW - I completely agree...but also think it depends on the training. If the training is good, I personally would prefer to be on a team that's competing at a higher level even if my kid wasn't playing a lot and/or the team was losing competitive games. I think you need to play better teams to get better, even if you're losing + you get better playing with better kids.

Winning will matter less and less as they age up especially when they get to high school where it is meaningless. I agree with the previous post that winning is lowest on the list. My son playing against the best competition was kind of the most important for his development which is somewhat myopic

Winning HS lacrosse games is meaningless? You realize that will be the pinnacle for 93% of your kids right? 7% of HS athletes play college athletics. That’s perhaps the absolute dopiest thing ever written on here.

Playing the right competition (for your child) in the right position is paramount. Most winter trainings are the same between programs. Lower level teams lack parental support for lax and their kids maybe playing other sports. Winning should be in the cards, getting destroyed is counterproductive. If a kid is ready to make a jump to a positive feedback loop that is a AA team is good, if he’s ready. Which means he now will play the right competition AND in the right position.

Only noteworthy thing at the N shore tournament is that Spallina’s 30 team had 30 kids and some are 31s.

Most people don’t care and if a kid is trying to get recruited, that’s their main focus. You are probably the parent still yelling wheels at your junior in high school which makes you the dope

Well the Titans parents probably care about Win and losses as they just got beat by seemingly the BBL B team (shore). At some point the kids playing up with 30s may play 31s + Spallina could rock the apple cart—something to pay attention to. Seems like no 32 team has a lock on anything!

Isn’t there a ‘31 Spallina? Fun fact: bbl shore (B team) lost to legacy blue devils a few weeks ago in Deleware. So now one could say 91 titans are on par with Blue Devils. In the 30 forums a guy mentioned the table was set for 91 to right the ship this passed weekend. Well that didn’t happen….

Looks like Spallina is the head coach at the Riot B Team. We saw them at Tri Star and looked like a very different team from last year. Didn't see any Stealth helmets but a lot of other ones couldn't tell which. Heard they played them up in AA division at Mercer County too.

LOL at 91 on par with Blue Devils. I don't think that's the case they are very solid but may need some new pieces. Who else did they lose?

Yup. Everyone knows it’s not a real pat med team. They pull plenty of stealth players that aren’t pat med.

They are mainly all Rebels Raiders East with the exception of the twins and the coach's son who plays attack/d. Only 3-4 stealth kids who never came off the field.

Manhasset is so stacked, every single player plays club lax and is a student on the elite teams, even their bench LOL.
Pat Med (Raiders plus twins and T) did a great job in slowing the game down and went to OT. Their goalie is a gem.

Who else has their schedule for the spring? New “B” team parent here and we are still waiting. Is that normal?

Thoughts on the 31 Circuit tournament at the end of the mos? Kudos to Rebels representing! Some of those teams look pretty dominant…they do show up in DE/MD (?) tournaments too.

All National Teams, good competition, but essentially a high level all star game with the older 2012 players dominating.

The whole national thing is nothing but a money grab. If you want to drop another 2-3 k on top of what we are paying have at it. I have no desire to go to Florida after Christmas to play a bunch of teams from up here.

Savage lacrosse just started at sports hub in syosset. We didn’t fall season. Great coaching staff but I felt was overpriced with to many kids.

Waaaaay too many kids. We did sessions with John when it was smaller and he was starting out. It was amazing and then it just got too big and my son gets more reps and does more quality work in our yard.

Waste first 15 minutes warming up as well; kids should be warmed up before starting paid for training.

First time at Savage this weekend and my son really enjoyed it. Fast high energy reps w/ 2030s, 5 stations I believe. The trainers seemed very energized.

If you are talking long poles there are several options.

Rebels run long pole stuff at their indoor place. Cheap but not great coaches.

Jp Brazel runs long pole training weekly. Good coach not cheap.

Ric Beardsley runs a a Long Island clinic in a week or so. This was my sons favorite clinic so far

Savage will have issues sustaining success, price too high and very few touches. A lot of waiting on line. Look for a training that is small with reps.

My Guy is a middle of the road player and seems to be getting a lot from the Savage Clinics. But agreed, you need to have solid footwork, and stick to keep up with the pace of the clinics.

If you count the shots the goalies face…it’s not much.

Or to find an offensive system? Nationals goal differential is insanity!!!! They must be doing something right—age verification is in full effect for ‘31s.

Will they have Subs too?

TBH defense looks at the circuit looks very lackadaisical at the circuit, but as the nationals make 3 passes in 9 seconds for a goal to start the game…defense doesn’t really stand a chance.

Rebel program not very competitive at the Circuit. Only 1/4 of their teams make it to Philly; top 6. 3/4 got beat up pretty bad.

I’m not a Rebels or Igloo parent. I don’t understand why there is so much detest about the 2031 Rebels. They are a very good team, and so is Igloo. Last year Rebels got the best of Igloo. They haven’t played each other this fall so there is no true gauge on who is better. A year makes a difference in kids progress and growth. Only time will tell which of those two teams are the best at this age group.

Who really cares which is the best team. Parents should pay more attention to if their child is developing their skills, putting in the effort, learning to be a team player, being competitive, having fun and making friends.

It feels good to dominate and win but on 29 team roster how many of those kids are contributing to the success of the team?! Maybe 8, the rest are fillers and don’t get the attention they are paying for to grow as a player. These clubs care about branding their name and winning. And us parents keep giving them more money to get richer while your kid gets lost in the shuffle. WAKE UP PARENTS!!!

The detest came from either parents, club directors or trolls posting endlessly on all age forums across the board how great the rebels were in the last few years. Thankfully that has all slowed down.

The average roster size is 27-32, across AA, A and B level teams. Major money grab. How can kids get better with rosters of that size, especially when the top 10 kids get all the playing time?!

Rebels parents started blowing smoke a couple years back. Most of their parents have zero experience at the youth level so early success got to their heads. Locally they are competitive but can’t come close to MD teams. They also have little understanding that at some point their better players will leave for the top two programs. Parents and players will need better coaching and more visibility. Rebels teams are decent in the early years but dismantle fast when it starts to matter. Can’t wait for the little elf to respond

The Rebels have a few parents that are just terrible. With that being said they are still probably the best team out there right now. Every year all of people says their top kids will jump ship. So far it hasn’t happened. I’m sure 91 and express are working hard to lure those kids over(and others) . Offers of free tuition and college recruiting reputation may be tough to turn down as each year passes.

The pouching days of 91 and express are over. Maybe try to develop kids. Take the Blue print from Rebels.

Good luck with that. The rebels aren’t in NLF or alliance (let’s see how that goes!) so at least some attrition is very likely. Many of the best players (not all though) go to where the most exposure and highest competition is and in late MS and HS that won’t be the rebels. If a top player remains on rebels I am sure they can still get recruited to a top program if they do the right things though. Our still the best bet/odds to stay with the proven orgs if you can in my opinion.

Any club can have kids get into good schools. There are alot of good schools. If history repeats itself, 91 and Express will send the most high caliber players to the best schools. What people won’t say out loud is at the upper grades, those 2 clubs will have mulitple out of state players. Players of parents where money is no object and they are buying the brand to ensure their kid is seen at certain tournaments. They fly in and take playing time from the kids who have been there all along. Both of those clubs will turn over at least 50 percent of their players by 9th grade from now.

I would agree with this. However 91 and express (more so with 91) have dramatically changed their business plans. While 91 and express will have the most d1 commits, most of their top teams are made up of out of state players. If you look at a team like 91 crush they were made up of mostly Long Island kids. If you look at 91s 2025 and 2026 teams I would say 60-70 percent of those teams are made up of out of state players. These are players that just fly in from Florida etc, play in tournaments and then go home. They don’t practice with the team. This is just something to think about if you go to the top 2 programs.

It’s just become more based in reality because of how many kids are playing lacrosse now. With kids playing in more places than ever (not just Long Island, Maryland and Connecticut), it becomes incredibly difficult to grow a team of 15+ top tier Division 1 commits from a small geographic area.

And the kids from areas that are not traditional hotbeds of lax are out there and looking for exposure. And they go for the name brand, tried and true labels. Guaranteed to get them into the right tournaments if the kid is good enough. And the parents are willing to pay for the plane fares and apartment rentals etc.

The days of taking a bunch of kids from one town and sprinkling in a few from the next few towns in grade school and turning them into the Crush are over.

I guess. I still think it’s a little rough for a kid that’s been practicing with the team 2-3 times a week for a few years. Then in 8th grade a kid from Florida (a year or two older) flies up and plays in the tournament and then flies home. It’s more of national model, not a local club model. 91 seems to be a much worse offender than express. As long as parents know that going in, the it’s their choice.

It's fairly simple, the best teams get recruited the most. College coaches are great at what they do. It has nothing to do with what org they are with. If a team has a top 10 team in every class, they will have tons of commits every year... bc they are top teams in the class. You saw it with shore 2 shore with their 23 team. They built a great team, with not much success in the recruiting world before that group and they had a ton of big recruits for that team... bc... you got it they were a great team. Dont let orgs fool you, if youre a top player go to the best team you can get meaningful minutes on as no matter the name attached, the best teams will get recruited the most. Regardless... you dont have to worry about recruiting at the moment, enjoy lax, let our kids be kids

Exactly. Another great example is Legacy Taz. Not one of the big 2 and they are not in the NLF. Most of the team were D1 commits to top programs. Legacys teams at every other grade are average to above average at best. Coaches care about talent. Not what program you play for

Those 2 teams had club owners and coaches sons on the them. They are both anomalies, bad examples in regards to the rebels 31. They recruited those teams over the course of 4-5 seasons. Rebels Stealth relies heavily on 2 players to produce over 95% of their offense. The Rebels have no depth outside the twins. Once those 2 leave the team dismantles.

If that was the case then you could just put your 2 best long poles on them and the team would lose. You can’t win against top teams unless you have depth. Try again pal.

Depends on the coach. Some B teams at the bigger programs have access to better coaching, some dont. Each individual case is different. Find good coaching and good training/development. Practices need to enhance a player’s abilities, if not, find a new club/team.

It really does depend. Most B teams at top clubs are money grabs. There are a few exceptions. The only 2 B teams at this level that put out a good product is rebels and 91. Both have good coaches and do well in b brackets. I would have my kid play for those 2 before the top team at true blue, turtles etc.

I agree with this both Warriors and Riot teams this year will be able to compete with some AA teams, but not are stacked and don't think are adding anyone. You can also add Igloo Wolves in there too if healthy. Rush, Turtles, Trueblue, S2S, Express are not there by far.

I think Riot and Warriors could beat out both Express teams… they are not complete AA teams. Talking to top program guy who echos what I have heard before: “big programs don’t care about little kids, they start to care for the WS.” He gave great advice to just enjoy it as it doesn’t mean anything till 10th grade.he said he’s seen parents and kids get destroyed at all levels… for no reason at all.
His kid won the WS on ESPN and he’s got 2 kids playing college ball. He also said to join his program for recruiting purposes to ride the wave.

So, will Stealth be intact for a WS go and beyond? The parents are loyal, but scholarships make loyalty expensive!

I think when 91 and express close the gap between themselves and stealth you will start to see some kids leave. Right now stealth is much better than those 2 teams. So it’s tough to leave for a team that isn’t that good. 91 and express are working very hard behind the scenes to improve their teams. They won’t stay down for long.

How does S2S and Igloo shake out? Both solid teams. Is there enough talent to go around 5 teams? I am leaving Express East out because they are a community team with express having tentacles to pull kids.

Why would they want to leave those teams. Both of them are winning top tourneys. They get more training and tourneys for less money then express probably. Express hasn’t done winter tourneys.

It’s pretty accurate. Igloo just can’t hang as teams get older. People leave for better coaching and competition. Igloo plays a B schedule when they get to high school. Other teams play top teams and tourneys. The parents on the these teams will have their eyes opened as they progress through the world of LI youth Lax

I know from my own experience with playing for a top club team then college as well as other family members playing for club teams only thing that actually matters is getting really good at lacrosse. What team or what tournaments you play in has nothing to do with it. If you’re kids good enough they will get noticed.

Great points, larger programs act as they are the only show in town. I have to wonder if the old style is being usurped by these younger programs that are playing top level lax because they put time to develop kids and now built a team over several seasons. I sort of doubt that all allegiance will go out the window when the Titans decide next yr to “reboot.” They maybe SOL. How much athletic talent is there? Yes they were in a positive feedback loop, but these younger programs have been grooming their kids/families for years.

CoachC Express did beat stealth, but got clobbered everywhere else. Basing everything on the Aces falling apart is a bit naive as there of course were other factors. Bottom line is lax is the ultramarine sport: gd teams are positive feedback loops by definition. Those top programs are late to their own show!

91 RULES

No one will “reboot” till 8th or 9th grade. 91 and Express will go national. They don’t need other LI kids to migrate like in the past. Kids from TX, FL, or GA will do just fine when they fly in. The days of sending 15 to 18 LI kids from one team to premier college lax programs are over. Enjoy these younger years with less movement and make some friends and enjoy some wins along the way. After 7th grade it will become more cut throat than ever.

91 has a great tryout camp. Not bad for a workout for your kid. For years people have thought that 91 and Express were the only 2 top options around. It has become clear that there are other teams at different age groups that not only compete with those two but often beat them consistently. It is about finding a club where your child will have a great overall experience. Find a program where your son is valued and is continuing to improve and enjoy the game. Every club is in it to make money. They are all big businesses, and you are the customer. Spend your money as you see fit.

S2S isn’t on the same level. They barely beat some bad NJ teams this fall. Rebels have solid core, but this summer will be a test with other teams understanding how to stop their core kid. Best of luck everyone this summer.

The way the game is trending (sixes, Olympic rules), faceoffs could be a thing of the past in a few years?

No because field and box still use them Unless sixes becomes the standard for college and hs then they will still need FO. Even in the PLL its going back to it in a way since they outlawed longpoles from taking them. I know next year with a rules change they are looking at faceoffs but we dont know what that is. Sixes is just a variation to allow more countries to field a team and a way for people to see a faster version of it that's not box. If they start sixes leauges then we could see a shift

I’ve been told that 5th grade going into 6th is a tough year to start playing travel lacrosse, I guess too late. Any solid Nassau county programs that are good to start with as an entry point?

Not too late. BTB is who I would recommend. Dan is great trainer and gd guy for the sport.

I took my son to the Apex fall games last year as a 2030 5th grader and we both had a ton of fun.

If you're concerned about the value of the exposure for your 5th grader, I doubt it's a huge return on your $800 investment, but it was a blast and the coaches are current pro players who were a lot of fun for the kids to play with. It's not really a cut throat competitive vibe at all, it's more of a really fun weekend to spend with your kid with a lot of good players.

Does your son play any additional sports? At this age most teams are already set however there are several B teams in all programs that would be a good starting point to see if he likes it. You should also consider signing him up for your town PAL for starters before club lax. As all club lax is $

Yes. If you don’t mind spending 800 bucks for some extra lacrosse and travel then have at it. Most people do it for fomo. A lot of people do it so they can post that their kid got selected on instagram. Remember……if you get “invited” to something but have to pay to play…….its a money grab. Plain and simple. PAL Kicked off this weekend!! It's always awesome to see club and town kids come together to play PAL. We played Garden City, I have been told they have 4+ teams per grade, how do you know if you are playing their top or bottom teams?

At this age its just for fun, most towns split their kids evenly across 2 teams. At the same time, don't let GC throw excuses out, they are lacking talent in this grad year.

I’m not a GC parent, nor affiliated with GC in anyway, but got to say that if GC has four teams, they’re doing it right with player development. No question GC will be a top team at this age group as they are with most age groups given class size and lax focus. Good luck to all.

Agreed - towns like GC and manhasset have multiple teams that usually play in the A conference while others have 1 team. Makes their perceived rosters seem fairly thin but they develop many more players this way year in and year out.

Igloo is #2 right now. Express East and S2S have both beaten 91 and Chucks so I’d put them next in the rankings. After it’s a big drop off.

I think we have versed this a couple 100 times. The Rebels and Igloo will fall apart in the next year or so. 91 and Express will take over, if not immediately following this season, no question by HS. We need to stop with this pro-rebels and igloo chatter, your better players will leave and there is nothing your bench-warming son can do about it. S2S and Exp East are B teams. Again, better players will leave after this season.

There is no way any kids are leaving Igloo’s Winter Soldier team. Actually, the opposite, kids are trying to get on the team. The team has an amazing coaching staff and parents are very appreciative of the environment.

Yes, years past kids ran from every club to 91 and Express. The days of everyone running to 91 and Express are over. Igloo has top competitive teams at the 2029, 2030, 2031, and the 2032’s. The organization has invested in coaches that focus on player development and it's working. The tides have shifted and the results over the next couple of years will show it.

Maybe other clubs, like 91 and Express should spend more time working on player development instead of waiting for top players to leave their teams. Real good business model - parents who spend their money at these clubs should be furious.

The reality of it all is, 91 and Express detest that Rebels and Igloo have had the top two teams at this age group for years, and they have produced sub-par teams.

Yes, Igloo and Rebels have built strong foundations from 2029 and younger. Both focus on development and not poaching. It works. Just like anything, organizations have a history of being cyclical. In youth and pro sports. Teams that were the top teams 10-15 years ago, arent anymore. Tournaments that were the top 10-15 years ago, arent. Showcases that were the top 10-15 years ago, arent. Its why competition is good for all. It forces all organizations to be better, to sink or swim, leading to a better product for all.

No dog in this fight but for now not all roads lead to 2031 Express or 91. Their current 2031 LI programs are mediocre at best who poached benchwarmers from other programs over the last 2 years.
And, your info is outdated too. The defense coach you’re talking about hasn’t been on the sidelines since last summer. There’s new coaching and talking bad about the coaching lacks class.

As a parent of a kid on one of the 2 teams mentioned I partially agree with what your saying.

But let’s stop acting igloo or rebels really care about developing your kid. They want to win because it’s good for business. That’s it. If they can bring other kids in to help them win they will cut your kid in a second.

People saying 91 and express are done is just silly. Their track record speaks for itself. And to be honest all of 91s teams are really good except this age. But they have already improved a lot since last year. And I’m sure they are working very hard to improve it. Again…..I’m not a 91 or express parent.

I think if 91 or express start beating those 2 teams on a consistent basis, you will see a lot of good players jump ship. Right now no one wil leave because both those teams aren’t dominating.

What’s wrong with that ? Happens all the time. Last I heard these kids weren’t under contract. I don’t think tampering rules apply to 5th grade travel lax. And when they offer top kids free tuition it may be tough for some parents to say no.

Don’t count 91 out. Things will change fast in this group.

The 31 team has the same problem as the 29’s. They’ll both be looking outside of Long Island to fill the roster by 9th grade.

Armada over Chucks 9-7: almost got into @ChillLaxin time. A nice scrimmage then practice for both teams. New Armada FO kid dominated the X.

The circuit is age verified for 31s. You can 1 special kid for 30s, and 2 special kids for 29s. 31s all look on point size wise.

Blue devils FO is on point—top notch. Kudos to his development over the past year. I think the team consists of 4 middies including the FOGO. There’s not enough athletic kids to go around.

I don’t think express /91 will get the kids they seek. The other programs invested, developed, created a winning culture that the kids are apart of. Why would they be apart of the “reboot?” They have friendships and relationships with organizations for years now. Those other teams left the back door open and now they are out of luck!

all igloo, rebels, and jersey games were competitive. jersey team def had players and were more physical. nice to see top teams willing to play each other. only way kids and teams get better is by playing and not there mommies and daddies posting about how good they are. good for these coaches for making it happen.

Igloo lost to Towermen by one goal. Rebels lost to Towermen by six. Rebels best Igloo by one goal. It was a great day for all three teams to scrimmage. Probably the best three teams on the Northeast.

i read thru this thread and parents talk about igloo and rebels falling apart and players leaving.

i was talking to a towermen parent who said they have to drive two hours out to long island because none of the jersey teams will play them. a couple weeks ago they played express. they even played a tourney where a team forfeited the final rather than play them. can u imagine. this is how hard it is to grow the game cause people like to talk about how good they are but not many actually want to prove it on the field.

i want my kid playing for coaches like igloo and rebels who arrange play dates like these and give there kids a chance to compete and improve. being a keyboard warrior doesnt help your kid get better at anything.

rankings mean nothing at this age but these three teams should be considered best in the northest cause they are willing to prove it on the field.

Tbh igloo and rebels don’t have much talent at this age. They have survived with a couple kids who were good at the younger ages. The development isn’t there so they haven’t gotten better. Same old story with both programs. It will become clear to the parents this year when they struggle in June.

You guys argue about who’s the best but chucks, stealth, amana and soldiers are pretty equal. Miesse should have been in the division against 91 warriors who’s probably better than the titans.
Hartfolis isn’t even a team it’s like players pulled from all over and should have played against the town teams miesse played against. Unless your on those top 4 teams talent falls off big time

Armada gets ignored? They should have been 2-1 but had Tough buzzer beater goal for East to tie —the kid shot on 1-0 and the East lights out goalie takes it, clears it, and 3 kids fall into Armada crease for a goal 1sec before the horn. If only Armada kid runs through X! Very dramatic ending. Armada had a backup goalie for some reason.

Concur on AA. Great battles. Chucks over Stealth but couldn’t pull out the wins against Armada and Soldiers. Express East not even close but tied with Titans!!!

Matchups from one team to the next are interesting in this group. Express East hangs with Chucks last week, EE then gets smoked by Stealth, Stealth loses to Chucks, Chucks loses to Armada, Armada ties Express East. Is it matchups? Parity? Or just any given Sunday?

I saw 2 games of exp Harto. Rebels east they could have won even though they only had 3 offensive kids that could play and really move the ball. Saw their last game vs riot only one of the kids were still there that could play, they never took him off the field and there wasn’t a riot kid who could play him, so I could see how you saw it’s a throw together team, he was probably from another express team.

Surprised at the lack of development on Titans. Very unlike 91 to right off an age group but they just don’t have the talent or depth at 31.

Why wouldn't they try to recruit from within? The Warriors are solid and many of the kids already know each other. Seems like a tough spot for the org.

The Titans are a mess. No question. But doubtful they will recruit from within unless there is a really strong player on the Warriors, which isn't the case. 91 will recruit outside and think it's safe to say, that the Titans won't look remotely the same year over year. There will be a massive facelift for this team, it will not continue in this form as it is unacceptable.

I would agree with this statement. However there is a dad coach or 2 that have kids with no business being on the team. This will deter people from coming over. They will have a hard time recruiting kids from other teams unless they get a lot better. If they don’t then they will start pulling out of state studs from Florida, NC etc in 7th grade. So yes they will be very good eventually. The question is will it be from Long Island players or out of state kids who fly up for tournaments

My kid will never play for a dad coach again—yes he would make any team he tried out for. Armada apparently had a back up goalie—tough situation for everyone except the teams they versed. It seems Any giving weekend at this point. Idc but the detest on S2S is funny and entertaining.

The Titans face the same issue as 91 Chaos. Dad coaches who have sons that belong on the B team. Better players get overlooked or taken for granted. Titans will not have many if any talented players from LI that would want to join that toxic environment just like the Chaos team. Organization will go outside after 7th grade in order to save face with their brand recognition and stature.
