In order to introduce this year's thread, we are categorizing this age group's tryouts by date.

Express team played....clearly not ready and got beat pretty bad each game. And those poor kids must have frozen half to death.

Our team is a bit of a disaster so trying to gauge how much is coaching vs my expectations.

Honestly, this is a tough age. Limited teams and practice. Coaches for these teams are dads or doing double or even triple duty. Stick with it, 3rd grade is much better and 4th grade it starts to really take shape. Finish these weeks out and make sure your kid is having fun. In the fall attend multiple tryouts and see what the best fit is. I will say everything for me starts with the coach.
My summer town team practice once to twice a week and keep position and only rotate when we are up by a couple.
My 2024 kid still sometimes runs the wrong way when he gets a ground ball...just let the kids play. Are you really going to keep score?

And it also comes down to if you can afford to do the travel for some of the so called A Teams.
My 2024 plays on one of the above mentioned clubs, its only 800 or so... I still catch him once and a while shooting down airplanes with his stick, makes me think! he is having fun and our town does nothing above and beyond PAL. Personal trainer (ex-MLL) plus a goalie coach, strength coach and most important the team doctor to keep the boys on the proper cycle... To avoid detection during random testing!

Not true... Maybe the Wolfpack (A) does, but not the Titans who will be at Bash at the Beach. They only practiced once in the last two weeks for 1.5 hours. Not really thinking that they are ready to play. But these little guys have plenty of heart and they sure do have fun, hopefully they surprise us.

2023 91 Warriors look like the team to beat, can't see a 2024 team beating them.
Why would a 2023 team play in a 2024 division?
Looks like it's a 2nd/3rd grade bracket.
