Under the same club, one team may be just a Spring - Summer team and in the same age group another team from the same club may be a year round team. Practices also vary in number of practices a week and length of practices. The areas the teams practice may be different as well, as it depends a lot on the coaches and where a lot of the team is from. It's smart to be a good consumer and definitely do your research, but bottom line- once you know which team your child is on, then research the coach and find out where, how much they practice and expectations of commitment. I've heard of way too many dedicated kids ending up with teammates that didn't have lax as a priority over another sport or team. That is fine if your kid is similar, and wants to continue playing two clubs or sports at once, but not great for the kids looking to go hard each week, for more than just an hour for a few weeks.


Great point. The 2018 B team was loaded with talent but they never practiced until May and basically under achieved every week. Just depends on who coaches each team. If they practiced all winter they would have been a very good team.
