Back of the Cage was in attendance at yesterday's heavyweight battle between five time defending Class B Champions, Garden City, and two time defending Class A Champions, Farmingdale. After trailing 6-3 at halftime, the hometown Garden City fans were as chilly to the game as the weather was to the players. As exceptional second have that saw Garden City outscore Farmingdale, 14-5, etched the final score at 17-11 for the Trojans over the Dalers.

As the scoring indicates this was two games inside one with the second half offense from Garden City telling the tale.

With roughly 14 minutes remaining, Garden City assumed the lead at 9-8 and never looked back extending the difference to three and then four goals with eight minutes remaining. A trio of Trojans netted four each for Garden City (Boston College-bound Mikaela Rix, Catherine Dickinson (junior), and Georgetown-bound Caroline Tarzian) while the now-Maryland-bound Kelly McPartland netted a pair for the Dalers. Harvard-bound Kelly Weis played well in the opening stanza before Erin Mullins stepped between the pipes in the second half.
