Holdbacks are always DUMB: If it is for academics, kid is dumb. If it is for athletics, patents are dumb and have misplaced the role if athletics. Financially it is dumb, put your 15 k tuition in a 529 in 8 th grade and you get more than your lax scholarship. College coaches would love ALL their recruits to do it- they are FIRED if they do not win - period. Private schools also LOVE this as greatest fundraiser of all time. How'd you like to sit in the same classes again for no reason at all.
